My family and I have been coming here for years. Our family has changed over time, but this place has stayed the same with familiar faces and comforting food. It's still our go-to for breakfast spot whenever I'm in LA ❤️
I have been to CJs many times but today was a total fail. I ordered takeout - BLT with egg. After waiting 25 minutes, (was told it would be 10) I got the driest, flattest, most tasteless BLT I have ever had. 1 thin slice of tomato; fried to death egg; plenty of bacon, but overcooked and tasteless. They also somehow managed to serve breakfast potatoes that had not a hint of oil, dry as dust. Do not, I repeat, do NOT ORDER BLT!

I’ve been a loyal customer for 20 years. I’ve watched the owner’s kids grow up and take over the day-to-day. They’ve retained mostly the same staff for this entire time, which says so much about management. It’s like home — it’s comfort food. Fresh squeezed OJ, turkey burger with cheese and bacon, and home fries during the week; and French toast on weekends is happiness. Te extrano mucho mi amor - Guero.

Got the order of chilaquiles. Good portion for the price, around $15. The coffee was fresh and the service was great. Every time I'm in the area, this is the typical spot where I have breakfast.

The food was pretty okay here. I got a breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and my boyfriend got a burger. I personally felt the sandwich was a little bland, but it wasn't bad by any means. My boyfriend said the same about his burger. The fries were pretty standard as well, nothing crazy to write home about. I'd be willing to check out other options from here before totally writing it off.
