I’ve always loved California Chicken Café and eat there pretty often with my kids — just usually at other locations. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular one today was disappointing enough that I won’t be returning.
I came in to place a to-go order and asked about a few items my children enjoy, including the rotisserie chicken wings. The employee helping me asked another staff member, a gentleman named Luis, how long it would be until more wings were available. Without even looking up from his papers, Luis responded in a very dismissive way, saying, “We don’t have any.”
It wasn’t the fact that the wings weren’t available — I completely understand that happens. It was his tone and attitude that made the situation unpleasant. When I tried to ask how long it might be until more were ready, his response and demeanor made it clear he wasn’t interested in helping or communicating respectfully.
Because of that, I decided to cancel my entire order before even placing it. Customer service like that doesn’t reflect the kind of hospitality I’ve always experienced at other California Chicken Café locations. I really hope management takes this as an opportunity to provide Luis with some retraining and education on customer care, because this kind of behavior isn’t becoming of the brand.

Please tell me why I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 13 years and only just discovered California Chicken Café two months ago! As a vegetarian, I assumed there wouldn’t be much for me—but boy, was I wrong. I’ve been back three times since, and I now know that CCC is going to get me through the next seven months of pregnancy. Everything is so fresh and tasty. The cherry on top, of course, is the guy running your food out to your car so that you don't even have to get out. Customer for life.

This place gave my family member food poisoning back in 2022. Thought we would give it another shot since 3 years passed. My OTHER family member got FOOD POISONING! They probably are very UNCLEAN.

This is the maximum number of stars you can give to food, especially chicken, that isn’t organic. The company has taken no pledge to make its customers meals healthy. Meaning the chicken, vegetables, and even lettuce you get here is filled with cancer causing pesticides. It costs as much as organic, however.

Didn’t get my gf salad right. The attendant that took our order was actually clueless about what gf is. I have celiacs so it’s a big deal for me. There was pasta on my cesar salad 🧐 And we didn’t realize from reviews that this isn’t actually a restaurant to go in and eat, just a kitchen where you order at the window and pick up. And didn’t think to ask for forks because of the bundled up presentation of the to-go food bag they brought out, but no forks. Overall quite a bad experience.

Calif Chicken Cafe has never disappointed. I had never been to this location. It was an extremely well run restaurant. IYKYK to order via the website. This insures that food is ready & fresh. Did I say fresh? The hot food is hot and the salad is never wilted or old looking.
Coming to Calif Chicken is a treat when I'm anywhere near a location.
Me and my family have been coming to this location for many years now and it makes me sad to write this review but it has to be said hopefully the management sees it.
What has happened with your food and your chefs and how they prepare things its never consistent! It's a roll of the dice if the food is going to be good or it's going to be bad. Whoever was working in the kitchen for the many years we have been enjoying your restaurant was amazing! In the past 6 months it just makes me not want to come because I don't want to feed my family dry chicken!

Some days the food is great but other days it's pretty underwhelming. It's too inconsistent. I recently ordered the Caesar wrap and a side of chicken pasta salad. The side was delicious but the wrap had very little chicken. Such a contrast to few weeks back when the chicken portion was fine.
