I came here after getting straight up forgotten at rock n brews. I expressed my sadness with the previous interaction, and they tended to me right away. They were very nice. The only reason it’s 3 stars not 5, the price was unreal. I know it’s an airport, but $54 not including tip for 1 drink and 1 personal pizza is absolute robbery. The bartender was very nice as was all the staff, but the price did make me realize that was def a 1 time meal, and I would have been happier with a protein bar from a local shop and a $9 drink on the plane.

Flying home from LA yesterday, we had a 3 hour wait for our flight...Decided on California Pizza Kitchen...Levert was absolkutely amazing...most of the system is automated and i was having issues with placing my order. kept getting an error message while those i was with had no issue. Levert, the manager came over (she seems to see everything) and offered to get me set up. We trried a couple things to no avail. She was calm, friendly, helpful. Finally she took my order, and made sure my food came out at the same time as the others i was with...While i see quite a few poor reviews of this place, if you're flying through and Levert is the Manager...you will be in great hands.

Thank you Levert.

Zero star if possible. Bad food even worse service.

30% service charge for no waiters - insane.

It is just insane how much they get away with at the airport. We all know that we’re going to be overpaying for the food, that’s the way it goes. “how bad can a pizza be?” Was the sentiment when we picked up a pizza here. Well, considering it’s a chain and there are standards and really no room for error- it was awful. Tiny pizza, much smaller than the box it came in, huge amount of crust, paltry toppings. One pizza- $27. Honestly. Plan ahead and go elsewhere. Or just starve. It’s just not worth it.

First, CPK has a good customer service and somewhat fairly rated in restaurants. Second, Google reviews are actually generous compared to Yelp. If you have bad review on Google, that’s really bad. Customer service is non-existent at this location at the airport.

I sat at the bar. These two people in my attached photo are too busy chitchatting that I waited for 10 minutes and nobody even offered a menu! So, I went to the “to-go order kiosk” and ordered my food instead and sat back at the bar. He comes to me and finally offered me a menu. I said, “I already placed an order because no one helped me.” He gave me this lecture that if I sit at the bar he’s going to charge me 20% gratuity. Instead of saying I’m sorry blah blah blah he gave me lecture. So, I decided to get up and take my food to go instead and not eat there.

This is an airport! Nobody has time to wait 10 minutes because you’re too busy talking to each other. People have places to go. The plane is not going to wait for me or us because of the incompetence of these “marooons” who are only there to get paid and NOT help customers. From my experience of traveling these people that works at airport restaurants are working on their own terms. This is no different than those people.

To be honest, this boils down to management. They are just as incompetent as the workers. Kind of sad because California pizza kitchen has a fairly good review.

Took 15 minutes to get a table while we stood outside, when there was empty tables everywhere, took another 15 minutes to get served. The having personal conversations loudly, they were also on their phones, they very seemed annoyed to be there. Staff was standing around talking very loudly being most of the noise in the restaurant!! Do not recommend. Wasn’t a good first American experience !!!!!

Given that the gratuity was mandatory the service was extremely subpar.

The waitress who served us after we ordered one pizza to split between two people asked again if we wanted anything else. After we politely declined she walked away.

The food portions we extremely small and overpriced. The total for a pizza is $30 with tax and the included tip. The pizza was mediocre at best and is not the same standard as a regular California Pizza Kitchen location.

It’s unfortunate that airport restaurants get away with this subpar service but it’s not surprising given that they have little competition and customers are temporary.

I would urge anyone who has had a similar experience to send your complaints to California Pizza Kitchen Corporate and LAX. The staffing is done by a 3rd party.

The food was decent, a salad and a pizza was enough for two people.
I don't know if it's legal for them to charge you the tax on the tip, but it doesn't seem right to me that they add the mandatory 20% tip to the bill.

I think it might be the worst CPK that I’ve ever been to.

I wanted a salad, they said I could only eat pizza or sandwiches… so I ordered a bbq chicken pizza, which I know to be pretty good. It was terrrrrible, worse than the frozen version of it.

Seriously do not recommend it.

Eck… breakfast burrito was dry and disgusting. But trapped in the airport it didn’t need to be any better

I would give this zero stars if possible. I was traveling with my family (2 little kids) on 11/24/24 and our flight arrived at 9:00pm local time. We walked over to CPK and it was 9:20pm. No posted hours. Sign said wait for hostess so we waited 20 minutes and no employee would come over. Employees at the bar wouldn’t make eye contact or respond to “excuse me”.

An employee walked by without saying anything to us and put a sign saying they’re closed.

Rudest people I’ve ever seen.

The service was great—I had no complaints at all, and the wait wasn’t too long. While waiting for my flight home from LAX, I treated myself to a delicious dessert at California Pizza Kitchen. You gotta try their CKP Butter Cake, it’s delicious!

Well CPK why did this individual get hired? And why does she represent your company?

I’m an international traveler and chose to sit at this bar to check emails and school work on my laptop. Your server really didn’t like that I opened my laptop. She completely degraded me for doing so, and was the absolute worst server I’ve ever had. Mind you I’ve been in hospitality for 15+ years.. tonight is 11/20/24 Sherri served me and my wife. I will not be a customer of California pizza kitchen ever again because of this individual.
CPK be more mindful of who you choose to represent your company.

Blatant Rip-Off! Beware of this place—they're running a complete scam!

Charging an outrageous 20% fee with no clear warning? That's a total abuse of customer trust. They hide behind a tiny sign, expecting no one to read it, then act like it’s your fault. It's deceptive and feels borderline illegal.

The management can waive this 20% fee if they want to. But they rely on customers not knowing that, and if you don’t notice, they’ll take your money without a second thought. If you've fallen for this, do yourself a favor and dispute the charge with your credit card company—they're counting on you not pushing back.

I’m more than willing to tip for good service, but tricking customers with hidden fees and pretending it’s okay because of some tiny sign? That’s beyond low. It’s worse than being robbed directly. At least that requires nerve—this is just slimy and cowardly.

SHAME on this establishment! It’s appalling how they exploit people’s trust. Don't give them the chance to scam you.

SHAME ON YOU!
