Established in 1967, this neighborhood eatery boasts a low-key vibe, friendly service, and excellent martinis. The ambiance is intimate and cozy, though some find it a bit dark. Carmines is an old school Italian restaurant filled with black and white photographs. The drinks are well crafted, and seating at the bar is good for a meal. The linguine and clams was delish & so was the parpadelle with mushrooms and sausage special. The food is perfect Italian-American comfort served with class. The dirty martini is one of the best. The atmosphere is hard to find, very romantic and elegant, elevated yet warm. The veal milanese was the best ever. Everything was tasty. Service was attentive and atmosphere was like going back in time in a good way.
