Excellent little eatery in the center of Olivera Street! After visiting the California Science Center, we made a pit stop here for a nice family lunch. The margaritas and food were both excellent. While we were eating, a mariachi band entertained us by walking around.

Location is the best part of this Mexican cantina. Prices are expensive for a Mexican restaurant. Portions are big, with great flavors. Over $10 for a Margarita and around $15 a plate but you will end taking food home. The area is great for shopping Mexican items. Guacamole is delicious, but our order had big chunks of avocado which I would normally prefer smashed.

Charming atmosphere/delicious Mexican food! Built on the first street built in City of Los Angeles, CA! What a history! Glad it has been preserved for so many generations to enjoy as well as souvenir shopping outside.Wheelchair accessibility: Level entry...but cobblestones outside...we managed

Gets 2 stars because the service was great and the free chips and salsa were great. We had the chiles rellenos and enchiladas. Unfortunately both were really bad, they beer battered the Chile which made it taste off, and the enchiladas weren’t flavorful. We we’re very disappointed. We really wished we would have just had the flautas from the córner restaurant instead.

This Restsurant is the best at Placita Olvera we went on Jul 11, 2021 to our disappointment it was closed it looked like it went out if business ? I’m really hoping that it’s just temporary close and it will reopen soon??

Was such a big meal, seasoned very well. But the steak was unevenly cooked but still tasty and tender. Good chips

Great food, great place. Our server, Elsa, was awesome along w the other staff!!! I found street parking around the corner on a Sunday at 2pm. This is a very popular local spot... 877 reviews and 4.5 stars on Yelp! The place is small and the wait is long so expect a bunch of grumpy people like myself in line.

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I must say their service is always good and they keep the place clean all the time. Rates are reasonable and they serve generous portions.

Nice place for quality mexican food. Great hospitality. The service was sociable and attentive. Prices are appropriate for the quality. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.
