Walking into Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens is like finding a hidden gem. It’s on Melrose, but once you’re inside, you feel like you've been transported to a beautiful home in Morocco. The place is decorated so beautifully—all these vibrant colors and rich details that make you feel like you’re on a vacation.
The people who run the place are the best. They are so warm and welcoming, and they make sure you're taken care of from the moment you walk in. It's truly a family feel, and the chef often comes out to say hello, which is a really nice touch.
The food is incredible. They have a set menu that makes ordering so easy because your meal includes appetizers, a salad, and an entrée. The lamb tagine is a must-try. It's so tender it literally falls off the bone and is full of amazing flavor. The chicken pastilla is also a standout—it's this delicious mix of sweet and savory with flaky pastry. The couscous is perfect, light and fluffy, and pairs great with any of the meat dishes.
Now, let's talk about drinks. A great thing about this place is that you can bring your own drinks. Just make sure to ask your server before you set them on the table. And a heads-up on parking: it's street parking only, so you might have to look around for a spot.
Overall, Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens is the perfect spot for a special night out. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is unforgettable, and you'll feel completely at home. It's a truly special place.

We had the pleasure of going to Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens last night. It was such a nice experience. The care and love put into all of the details show. From the outside it looks like a small restaurant. But when you walk in, you walk past the kitchen, and then, wow. The place just opens up. The décor is so well done. The wall of roses and lights. The drapes on the ceiling and walls, paint schemes,  tile work and nick knacks work so well to make you feel comfortable. And the owners are just as wonderful. So friendly, you feel like family.

There was a Prix Fixe menu that really included everything. But as we do not eat that much, we went with Scallops Pastilla and Chicken Tagine. As well as some Baklava for dessert. We were brought bread with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping as well as some Kalamata olives. The bread was so soft on the inside and a bit of crust that gave just a bit of resistance. The olives were one of the highlights. They were so good. Not overly seasoned, but so much flavor. The Pastilla came out and was fresh from the oven. Hot and crispy. There is some lemon to squeeze on to the scallops, it was delightful. The scallops were juicy and not overcooked, the seasoning was not overpowering. We cleaned the plate. Then came the Chicken Tagine. It was a good size breast and wing, that was so tender it just fell off of the bone. It was so flavorful.  The vegetables that came with the chicken were a great accompaniment. As was the bread that came with it. We (I) decided to get some Baklava for dessert. Not overly sweet like some are. It was not dripping in honey, but you could taste it! Good size pieces that took a couple of bites to finish. Highly recommended.

We will definitely be back. We were so comfortable from the second we walked in through the front door. There is parking in the area, and there may be parking right in front, but it was full when we went. Come with an appetite and expect to be pleased with a great meal and hospitality.
