Just tried to go as a single person for a meal alone for my birthday. I was planning on treating myself to a pretty big, spendy meal.
The restaurant was half empty with three tables seated inside, no one outside and no one at the fairly large bar.
I was treated pretty badly. Or perhaps I should say, with disdain as a chore to be dealt with.
The server was pretty uninterested in seating me and basically gave me only one option of a specific seat at the bar to sit at.
The space was tight and I’m a big guy and it would have put me directly in the path of egress and I offered to sit a bit more out of the way so I wouldn’t be a nuisance and was shot down pretty intensely.
I’m a huge and effusive supporter of local businesses. I love to sing a places praises and encourage my friends to become patrons so small businesses succeed especially in my very small neighborhood.
But when a business makes it clear they’d rather not take my money, I make sure to honor their desire and share my experience with friends.
The ceviche project might be fabulous, but I wouldn’t know because I was not welcome and that’s a shame.
If you can choose anywhere else to eat, do so to avoid the potential feeling of being a nuisance at an establishment where you should feel welcome and appreciated in exchange for your patronage.

Amazing service and food. The chef takes great care in each dish he provides. My fiance normally does not like oysters but though the ones here were amazing.

Excellent fresh ceviche. Intimate dining room with great tunes. You can tell the chef/owner is really passionate. The tostadas and ceviche were real standouts, will absolutely go again.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of LA. I never post reviews but I had to write one about this place. This is the best seafood I have ever eaten hands down - the combination of flavors that Octavio has thoughtfully curated is completely unique to anything I’ve experienced and will send you to a different dimension (try the king kanpachi tostada!) Not to mention Octavio is a great hang and makes you feel like an old friend. His kindness is matched only by his charm. This is the perfect restaurant, if I could give it a thousand stars I would.

An absolutely outstanding experience, every time. Ceviche Project has some of the best food in LA and everyone we've brought there has agreed. Everything is delicious and beautifully presented. It's creative but accessible. Great wine list, too. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and takes time to chat when it's not too busy. A hidden gem that I can't recommend enough.

Unfortunately, had a bad experience here with regards to terrible service. Ordered five dishes and only three showed up and about an hour. Asked about the other two, and a half hour later another showed up. The server forgot. Then ask about the fifth dish and a half hour later he came back and said they were out. Had to ask repeatedly for water, refills, and the whole time the waiter just seemed annoyed to even be helping us. The food was very good, but the portions are incredibly small, and the prices are really high so for $140 you leave hungry. On top of that they add automatic 18% gratuity, which I am normally fine with unless the service is absolutely terrible like it was.

Excellent food, not sure why this place isn’t mentioned more on lists. Food was phenomenal and service was even better.

When I think of seafood in eastside Los Angeles, I think of Ceviche Project. This is my go to for ceviche, aguachile, tostadas, and oysters. Octavio is an incredibly passionate and kind human being, and his food speaks for itself. He provides a completely engrossing and sensational culinary and human experience. The quality of the seafood is unmatched, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and the hospitality of Octavio goes beyond that of pretty much any other restaurant in LA. . It's just such a pleasure being able to eat at this local gem of a restaurant. The Silver Lake/Atwater Village/Glendale/Los Feliz community is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Thank you Octavio for your hard work!

Fresh and creative dishes. I ordered the scallop on the half shell, toro sashimi, tai snapper ceviche, king kanpachi tostada. All delicious and so fresh! Most delicious was the king kanpachi tostada - so savory but brightly flavored. Definitely recommend!

Amazing spot. Great place for date night. The food reminds me of tulum michillen restaurants. Creative but traditional vibe. Fresh infredients with a chill vibe. Owner is friendly but busy .

A really lovely spot with top notch food and great service. We love Octavio and Sam. Everything on the menu is mouth watering and fits my gluten free diet. Tastewise, it’s one of the best underrated spots in LA. I drink their green ceviche sauce like a soup and dream about their scallops with uni. I do wish they had some more filling items, maybe like a cold soup, or a chayote, jicama ceviche or a more substantial salad. During the pandemic they made an incredible seafood Michelada with uni but they don’t offer it now.

Don’t skip dessert. The crispy peanut butter balls are special.

Absolutely delightful! Each bite was a new experience, surpassing the last in flavor and creativity. We truly appreciated the artistry behind the dishes, which were not only delicious but beautifully presented. Even now, I'm reminiscing about those flavors—my mouth is watering just thinking about them! The freshness of the ingredients really shone through in the dishes!

Went on Thursday at 6:15 with reservation, but we were the only customers then. Got crowded after 7 though. Cute little restaurant with a friendly chef / owner (?). Some meter parking outside. Food is alright.
