Fantastically authentic Thai, where the spices aren't just 'spicy' but obviously essential to the unique qualities of the dish. We had the 'jerky style' beef for an appy and the eggplant and shrimp dish (forgot all the thai names and to take a snapshot of the menu, boo), but am adding pictures. Highly recommend in this area, if you are not into the typical tourist who is looking for 'not spicy' versions of pad thai and the like. A real foodie...
Everything that came out was really well prepared.
They’ve taken some traditional dishes and tempered them so they are more pure in flavor and nothing seems overpowering. The produce that goes into these dishes seems like they have been carefully selected and I have dinned at many Thai restaurants around the world.
I would say this is one of the best Thai food experiences I’ve had in L.A if not the best.

Chao Krung has been around for over 50 years and has been family owned for that long. The food is some of the best Thai I've had.
I have friends of mine who have been in the restaurant business for over 50 years themselves, and the just love the food here.
