Charlie's Famous Fried Chicken

I get the hype. I really do. You see it online: the golden crust, the glossy drizzle of honey butter, the comments section full of people swearing it changed their life. So, I drove out, ready for a spiritual experience in fried form.

And… yeah. It was okay. Not bad, just not “internet-breaking.” The chicken was oily enough to qualify as a skincare product, and somehow both over-seasoned on the outside and under-seasoned on the inside.

The hot water cornbread? Listen, I respect the tradition. The history. The technique. But at two bucks a piece? I expected something that didn’t crumble like it was actively trying to escape me. I’ll take regular cornbread, thanks. Preferably one that doesn’t require a hydration plan.

We got the honey butter 6-piece, which was basically fried chicken doing the backstroke in a pool of butter. My arteries started sending distress signals halfway through. The spicy 3-piece? Not spicy. Not even mildly offended. Luckily, I travel with hot sauce like a responsible adult, so crisis averted.

Oh, and the corn? Dry. As. Hell.

ai ordered chicharoens, never had it before and safe to say ill never try it again. The battery used for the skin was pretty good. For two orders my husband paid $28 wish I didn't do it tho.

All the food is really Chef's kiss... the downside is you drive all the way over there, and they're often out of a lot of things...

But The Tacos are 🔥

The Garlic noodles are good by themselves, but if you add the shrimp,... 🔥

I think it's garlic soy chicken or something like that but it's deliciously fried with this sauce put on it, and it is very good .

If you don't call it in,
be prepared to wait because they make it all fresh and it's going to take about 20 mins at least... They do give you a little buzzer so you can go sit in your car...

Traffic over there is dicey so it may be a challenge to get in & out of there, but worth it...

Don't be so hype to ty the chicken. The chicken is very crunchy. You get more skin than meat itself. I'm going to try something else on the menu next time.
