I gave this hotel my business, and I have done so in the past, but the management still refused to waive a no-show fee for a booking I made for the day prior to my arrival by mistake. I am busy. Transitioning jobs and just coming off of orders for the military reserves. I knew I had to be LA on the 29th but somehow thought the 29th was an earlier day in the week when I made the reservation. I also thought I was making a two night booking. My second mistake (which helped me) was that I only made a one night booking. Anyway, I showed up the day I needed to be in LA, and the front desk told me I had no booking. After searching, they told me I was scheduled to check in the day prior and had marked me as a no-show and charged me accordingly. I spoke to management and explained my situation. Management was inflexible and continued to charge me for the day prior. I want a hotel that understands business customers and people who balance multiple responsibilities. I also want a hotel that builds loyalty in its customers. The Hilton Checkers clearly does neither. I will stay with this hotel's competitors on future trips to Los Angeles. I do not recommend.

I like this hotel. The location is great and walkable to food, clubs, and easy to travel. The bar is nice!
Good standard Hilton Hotel fare in a lovely, cozy, restored vitage hotel lobby bar. Service was friendly and attentive.
Had room service was excellent food was great ahi tuna tartar ????

What a shame! This was a wonderful property, then Hilton ruined it with their remodel. Now they have a lackluster staff that have given up. We won't stay here again!

I absolutely hated the Checkers. It was just a room with a king size bed and TV on the 8th floor. The view was of an alley way of other buildings. Nothing unique or old about the place but the fireplace in the lobby. The front desk staff was snotty. So I checked in 5/17/2024 for $140 a night plus all the crazy taxes and $30 resort fee was supposed to stay until Monday 5/20/2024. Heck to the NO! Got there at 3:45 pm and was ordering a Lyft to go back to my favorite hotel by 4:06 pm. Told Mia the manager at front desk I was leaving. Have the bell boy I tipped $10 being my bags down. Mia says I was in the room an hour? Charged me the full rate and won't return my money. They lost out on May 17-May 29 or today $3,568 of my hard earned money whike working on a film in LA. Since April 22, 2024 I have spent more than $9k on hotel accommodations, not including food, alcohol, cash tips and Ubers. It was the first time I booked a Hilton. I suggest my favorite hotel Indigo downtown or I liked the Sure Stay Sunset West when I did studio work up the street.

Love this hotel, even though they don't have some amenities. Room, a little small. Bed comfortable, but towels a little thin for a Hilton garden. Staff friendly. Breakfast every morning to use up our credit. Lady at bar was good with our drinks. Our room was clean.

Upon arrival we were told that the restaurant wasn't booking until May. I don't understand how I was able to book for Feb 10. A heads up would have been nice. I was excited to try Checkers and felt a little bummed out since I had to change plans.
The hotel is beautiful. It looks just like the online picture. The front reception desk was very welcoming. Bathrooms and bathrooms were both clean and made for anyone (business or vacationers) to enjoy. It truly gave me the 1920s vibe. Ok, now let's talk about what I didn't like (areas of improvement):1) Not telling visitors how your room card is needed to swipe to get to your room.2) $100 per day hold on your credit cards, so if you have a stay planned, take that into consideration for your budget.3) As always, the food is basic and over price with a very little variety.4) Bar closes at 11pm..yep, this is not a hotel for visitors.5) Doors are closed at 11pm, so returning I did not know that, and the staff watched me struggle to understand why I couldn't get on and did nothing. Luckily, I figured it out. SO keep your card with you. If you lose it, yout out of luck.6) Weird bathroom thing when you turn on the shower, the shower and the faucet runs at the same time, but the water runs warmer in the faucet..so hard to get the hot temperature I like.7) The bar did not have a cocktail list, but the elevator listed the cocktails as available. The bar could only make a plain cosmo.Would I stay again? Yes, business ONLY, because it is near my company office for my meeting. But, as a vacationer, no. I felt like I was with my parents staying at a hotel.

The cold water tap in the sink didn't work. I told front desk at the beginning of my stay. Nothing was done about the issue. I requested a corner room away from the lifts. Was given the complete opposite room closest to the lift. Rude and dismissive bar tender that didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Bar tender didn't have knowledge of what cocktails they had on menu or what they could make. No knowledge of the whiskeys they had in the bar.
Protesters across the street were extremely annoying.
