Great food. Short ribs were our favorite. But squash blossoms and hanger steak were very good.
Everyone was super nice to me, and even the take home food was packed nicely after I was done with my meal, they didn't just dump it in the box without care which I've seen done at too many places. It was a nice experience 😊 Thank you so much!
Our first time at Chi Spacca was very good and we will return next month to entertain a friend. The pane, broccoli & branzino were excellent. The squash blossoms & apple pie were okay. The service from everyone we encountered was outstanding. Shout outs to David & Michael. Hopefully the only thing that changes on our next visit will be the new dishes we replace the squash blossoms & apple pie with. Chi Spacca is a refreshing change from Mozza, which we have been to twice and both times Mozza was very disappointing from the food, service and noise & chaos.
Blown away! The trotter croquet was too 5 dishes I've had in years. The bread was ethereal, crispy, smoky and soft on the inside. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the pecorino cream was very flavorful. The wine was exquisite and the service was impeccable. We. Love. This. Place.
Enjoyed the cassoulet experience with Chef David...Outstanding! Service was friendly and attentive, communal dining format facilitated making new acquaintances. Altogether delightful evening!
This place never disappoints. Came back after a few months to a slightly changed menu. Everything was delicious, and service was top notch. 10/10!
I generally love this restaurant, but last night the food arrived very late, and was cold. I had to send it back, but still wasn't warm enough. Also, it was super noisy. I think, it would be helpful, if an expensive, high end restaurant such as, not to accept children under 15.
Food was mediocre at best. Not good value for the quality of food. $295 steak that was cold and not tasteful
I've lived a few blocks from Chi Spacca for a while and dine here regularly. While I'd say nthat in general the menu is made for sharing with a group, it is quite possible to build a menu for one. One thing is for sure: the food is just incredibly good, and is second only to the people of Chi Spacca in its excellence. You will walk a long way on planet Earth before you find a more perfect combination of food, ambiance and service than at Chi Spacca.
Our server, David R, enhanced our experience in this unique eatery by explaining the menu and making excellent suggestions. Beyond that, he had a wonderful personable way about him and was friendly to all his customers—extremely efficient, knowledgeable and solicitous without being fawning Chi Spacca is a unique gem in the LA restaurant landscape and my partner and I recommend it. However, this rarified experience of delicious classic foods prepared in tasty, innovative ways does not come cheap, so bring your good will and a good wallet.

One of the best dining experiences. Make sure to sit close at the bar to experience it all.
My husband stumbled upon chi SPACCA several years ago on a hunt to find a good steak that was not at your typical steakhouse. Needless to say we have returned several times. It is one of our favorite LA restaurants and it never disappoints. It's a hidden gem that is not overly popular like other places, but don't get me wrong a reservation is still required. We ALWAYS get a caesar salad and beef + bone marrow pie, hands down the best caesar salad and savory pie we have ever had. We will rotate and try other starters and side dishes and are always pleased. It is an intimate restaurant with exceptional staff and will continue to visit as loyal customers!
I have mixed feelings about our dine here. The touted Focaccia di Recco was extremely salty and it ruined the following courses that we had: the smash burger, steak tartare and the bronzino. The steak tartare was just ok; it is prepared differently than most versions in that instead of using ground meat, they use diced steak. The burger was also just OK. The best part of the meal was the bronzino which was very good. Our server was great and she was kind enough to remove the focaccia from our bill without our asking her to. We sat at the counter and it was fun to watch the chefs in action. My final comment is that the transaction on your credit card will say Mozza2Go instead of Chi SPACCA and that may pose a problem when trying to get the $150 reimbursement from the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card (which offers $150 off $150+ at Chi SPACCA). We shall see if Chase understands that Mozza2Go and Chi SPACCA use the same point of sale terminals and are effectively the same company.
Salad was wilted and overdressed Broccolini was nothing special Steak tartare was bland Hanger steak amazing Focaccia amazing
Delicious food and great staff! We had the bistecca alla Fiorentina and it's the best I've had in the US
