Great place to satisfy your Chicharron craving. Service was great very friendly very family like their coffee is delicious and their tortillas are good. I would definitely come back here again.
Yes LA is full of Mexican food, but this place is 100% worth schlepping to from a more gentrified part of the city when you want its signature dishes (chicharrón, pork and pozole). The flavors of the meat are INSANE, the homemade tortillas are luscious, and everything tastes so fresh. You feel energized and good afterwards even though it’s heavy food— which is the hallmark of the best Mexican country cooking not made for gringos. They have parking in the back off the alley!
I moved to LA five years ago and have found it difficult to discover restaurants that serve a menu that they can be proud of. However, Chicharroland is a tiny little gem south of Downtown that deserves to be celebrated.This father/son owned and operated Taqueria has me spinning. The flavors, consistency, quality and care that goes into their preparation is outstanding. Everything is made from scratch and it shows.Thank you Roberto for this authentication of your Mexican art form.Cheers!
