Great eats!!! Our waitress was great! The place was great! Food is amasing! A lil pricey but worth it. The hostess tho needs to change her attitude since she is the front face of the house! Other than that. Great!

tbh i feel queerbaited by the giant queer flag on their window. when i think of queer friendly restaurants, i think of a variety of options for any dietary needs. this place has zero plant-based options aside from maybe one salad (but not even sure if the dressing would be dairy free). the staff were all super kind and tried to make accommodations for us but it was difficult for them because they use dairy in pretty much all their dishes, and don’t have alternatives. the menu doesn’t make note of any potential allergens patrons should be aware of either.we got the fried mushroom & corn waffle, the waffle was soggy but the pieces of corn in the waffle added some nice texture and flavor. we also got the veggie burger of the day, and it was decent, nothing noteworthy. our bill was $50, not worth it imo, especially for a diner.

I went on a pretty busy Saturday night, the wait wasn't bad surprisingly. The service was short and straight to the point. Food: The burger was very good and fresh. The pickles... amazing! Parking: Very tight and limited. Free parking in LA you can't complain too much. The seating inside is comfy and inviting.

The food is pretty decent. However it can get very crowded in the morning for brunch so plan to come later after the rush or be prepared to wait. If you are going to wait, know it will be outside as when there is a rush there is no where to sit really. Let those with mobility issues be warned in advance. Staff are nice. Prices reasonable.

Cindy's! A wonderful classic diner that somehow managed to survive these turbulent times. I loved it before it was sold to new owners, and bless them, they've done a masterful job upgrading Cindy's original menu with a light Cajun spin. Now, along with the classics, you can also enjoy delicious catfish po' boy's, shrimp 'n grits, and anything else you might imagine a modern New Orleans diner might serve. And it's all good. In addition, I especially appreciate the classic diner interior Cindy still maintains (it's occasionally used for film shoots). The staff is warm and friendly, the hours expanded, and the food is mouth-watering. So keep on keepin' on, Cindy's, 'cause I'll be back for more!

Best last minute find yet!!! We've been on this Fried Chicken thing for a while now, trying as many as we can find on the menu and so imagine our surprise when this breaded delight came out - crispy, juicy, spicy and everything nice. And if you're a fan - sub black-eyed peas for their spicy, tangy collard greens!!! We also got the Noah's Arc (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, sub bacon for sausage). A little dense for the pancake (for our taste) but the chicken sausage was different in a good way. Overall: will be back soon!!!

Passed by and thought we'd try this quaint little restaurant. It has a sixty's theme, southern style cooking. My husband wanted to try the grits. He said it was pretty good. I had the steel cut oats. That was good too. It came with fruits (bananas, blue berries and strawberries). Plus pecan, brown sugar, raisins and milk). It was quite filling and so delicious. The service is great. She came and took our order and brought the food out quite fast. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back.

I've been wanting to go here for quite some time because I saw that they serve grits. The food tastes like southern cooking and made the old-fashioned way. The wife had the oatmeal, and I had the has with two eggs. The serving sizes were relatively large and tasted just like the old days. However, the grits were too watery and really did not have a southern taste to it. I prefer my grits firm with texture, with some melted butter and pepper. The service was okay, but could have been more friendly, but the ambiance was so nice and inviting back to the sixties...

Cindy's Restaurant is a landmark and staple in the Eagle Rock community!! They have some wonderful menu items like sweet potatoe biscuits, green goddess omelet, house breakfast potatoes, and other unique dishes in addition to your traditional diner ambience!! I highly recommend Cindy's and I'm so glad they remained in tact after the pandemic!!

Cute and cozy diner that’s been there since 1948. Several movies and tv shows have been filmed there. The service is great and the food delicious had the chicken fried steak dinner. So worth the drive and experience to visit.

We keep hoping to find more good dining options in the area, but alas, we had no such luck again when we tried Cindy's for the first time. We love black-eyed peas and collard greens, so when we saw that they had them on the menu, we had to try them. Unfortunately, both sides had odd flavors not typically found in those dishes when we've ordered them from other restaurants. It seemed like they tried to put their own creative touches on the recipes and they just weren't successful. We also ordered their Smoked Mushroom Greek Salad, which we thought was going to be like a real cucumber and tomato Greek salad without lettuce because the description did not include lettuce as one of the ingredients, but it included lots of lettuce compared to the other ingredients. We should have known better than to assume that an American food place would serve a more authentic version of the salad and should have confirmed with the waiter before ordering it to avoid being disappointed. The Shrimp and Grits with Mushrooms was by far the best dish we ate. The shrimp weren't overcooked and the mushroom flavor was tasty. For dessert, we ordered the Peach Cobbler, which had a good flavor except for a very small portion of the biscuit that had not cooked through entirely.
