Bad customer service!
Price point isn't worth the service.
Quality of food was not up to par with price point and coffee was mediocre.
Also,
the guy working seemed to care more about what was going on with his smartphone than us. This isn't the first occasion with this particular associate. Immediately regretted coming here as soon as I saw it was him working. Multiple times when trying to flag him down he was looking down on his phone. A customer should NOT have to ask for the check every single time they come here and see the associate playing on his phone instead of helping people who are now paying a surcharge just to come here. It was just not good service , especially for the price point.
Food was burnt. Coffee was not good.
Felt ignored. Never asked how anything was. Very disappointed in this place and lack of accountability, it seems.
When the lady is working here out front it's much better but for the prices and surcharge it's not worth it at all.
Almost a $10 service charge for two people with this kind of service? Crazy.
Got home had to brush my teeth from chard French toast top.
Disappointing. Never again. Nope. Lost this customer and my guests.
There are much better places that don't treat you this way and the food is way better.
Parking: Parking is not free. They take card or quarters. I think it was $1.00 per hour... There is free-ish parking around the block but usually taken.

Beware!!! They charged us 18% gratuity for just two people!
I ordered plain scrambled eggs and it had part of my boyfriends burrito mixed in it. Also, went to order a beer which they had displayed behind the bar. They told us they didn't have those beers and they are just "there for decoration" I have never heard of a restaurant bar having bottles displayed for "decoration" and not even carrying the brand at all. So strange.
Also, No one ever came to see how our food was or check on us the entire time...just overall weird vibes from this place.

I had high hopes for this place and was extremely disappointed. The pictures of food looked fantastic. That’s what got us in the door. The service was not great the waiter couldn’t answer simple questions about their food choices. The servings was extremely small and over priced . I basically paid almost 30 dollars for an over cooked salmon salad with over cooked beats . My husband for a small breakfast. It cost us 75 dollars 🤯. When we went to pay there was a service charge for 14 bucks so be careful not to tip on top of that. Just all around disappointing ☹️

Absolutely not, I've had it with this place. First off, they always manage to burn the omelets. Someone has got to tell the chef that nobody wants brown eggs. The atmosphere is basically four TVs showing nonstop Chive videos/trivia that are an unwelcome distraction. It's giving Buffalo Wild Wings, and the tables smell strongly of bleach.
They have no gluten free options, and if you ask the server to substitute the toast for something else like fruit, she says they won't because "toast is complimentary." Really? I don't remember being greeted with a basket of toast and salsa on the table as soon as we got in. If it were free, it should come with every order (and brought to the table the same time as the waters). Either give me a dollar off the order, or a piece of fruit, and stop being so cheap.
But I'm giving it only one star because of their sneaky 18% service charge, which is conning people into double-tipping. If we were a group of 5+, I could understand that, but there was two of us. The server has never mentioned the charge, though I remember in the past feeling the meal was more expensive than what it was really worth. After you give them your card, the server comes back with the merchant receipt where you can add even more tip (the fee not listed on this receipt). Of course, like most people, I didn't study the itemized receipt before to see they automatically charged 18% on the total bill, under the taxes. What a gyp. Countless times I must have double-tipped--and to be real--there is nothing this place has to offer that is deserving of such a high premium.
I can't believe this place manages to be so sleazy on top of serving burnt eggs and being cheap about it. Absolute disgrace. From now on, I'm walking the extra half mile to Dennys, where they don't burn the eggs, they will substitute the toast, and they won't try to pickpocket me on the way out.

BE AWARE: they automatically add an 18% "service charge" to every bill without a word. I've heard of this for parties of 6 or more, but was shocked when I saw it added to a bill for just me and my husband. As someone whose standard tip is 30% this not only felt insulting but also made doing the math more difficult, and also made me feel like I was leaving a crap tip. But over $60 for a paltry breakfast for 2--with food that was essentially the same quality you'd get at a Denny's--it was a sticker shock that will make sure we don't return.

SHADY. Diner beware. They tack on an 18% service charge. FOR A PARTY OF TWO. And the coffee is watered down. Groundwork is a good brand of coffee and they somehow made it awful. Oatmilk was watery too. Adding a shot of espresso to the coffee didn’t help make it stronger, somehow.

Chilaquiles, burrito and fries cost me $71 after automatic gratuities. No spice no flavor to either, small servings. I feel robbed, will not be coming back 👎

A little on the pricey side but it's hard to beat the service atmosphere and deliciousness of City Kitchen, one of the most vibrant and authentic establishments in the arts district. It's always a great time!
