Absolutely love this place for their pastries and bread alone. My favorite pastry is the Swedish cardamom bun, and their sourdough bread is fantastic as well. When I want something savory I go for their simple everything bagel that gets the job done. I don’t normally get the coffee here, as the times I’ve been there they only seem to have drip. The staff is also always very friendly. I really like this place for the vibes. Very simple straight forward cafe, bakery, and unpretentious vibes, which can be a rarity here in LA.
You’ve got to try the cream bun!
Quality went downhill. Size of the ham in “ham & cheese” croissant shrunk 2 fold since we had it 6 months ago. Underserving your customers is a bad practice, clark street bakery.
I didn't intend to write a review for this bakery/coffee shop, as I wanted to gatekeep, but I have to share the love. Clark Street embodies the low-key and cool vibes that I truly appreciate. The music is great, the employees are friendly and polite. The service was quick, which was a plus. I noticed they handle a lot of takeout orders, which speaks volumes. I also appreciate the mix of customers--it's not overrun by trendy TikTokers but neighborhood regulars.
We had the Swedish Cinnamon Bun, Croissant, Avocado Toast, Grilled Cheese, and latte, all of which were delicious and made for the perfect Saturday lunch. And the prices are reasonable--thank you, Clark Street.
I'm definitely giving Clark Street 5 stars. See you soon!
Peace and love,

Pastries are delicious. ( Swedish cinnamon bun, and Bostock) Been meaning to come to this bakery and it did not disappoint.
We love a good place with delicious pastries and coffee but what makes it even better is the customer service! Thank you Luis, everytime I come in he greets me with my name and is always very kind. -Yubi trippin
Go to the Clark Street at Larchmont Village instead, the staff here are weirdly rude and dismissive.
The food is excellent, it's always been great quality, but after being talked down to for just checking if an order at the bar was mine or not, truly don't see a reason to come back to this specific location. I asked because my friend ordered a bagel with cream cheese, and it took almost 10 minutes without it being rush hour?
Even the cashier just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Coming from a barista, I know it's tiring having to talk to dozens of people everyday, but attitude and dismissiveness was completely unwarranted. Like mentioned, Larchmont Village has much friendlier staff, go there !

Pastries are bomb, I order ahead and they’ve never messed up my order. Cool outdoor sitting area. No complaints.

I love their products. As a local, but also French there are two things I know a lot about: Bakeries and rude people. Ever since I have been coming to this location I always been amazed by the quality (favorite being gruyère and Thyme croissants and lox bagels). This morning November 3rd, for the first time there, a cashier gave me the most horrible attitude. So horrible I am still puzzled if I should come back one day... Rest of the staff was nice and felt sorry about it and it was very awkward. Hope it’s not a new style they are trying, to make the pastries taste a bit more « French » cause it is a doozy I would rather pass on.
* update after months* Went back purchasing a pastry. The staff is getting more and more disrespectful. It’s probably costing this business a lot of $ loss each day from hiring terrible staff. I would love to know how much

Coffee is delicious and so are the pastries but the customer service sucks!!! Workers are very indifferent with customers and the way they talk to you is unacceptable.
Wish this place was more welcoming and friendly!

I heard much about this bakery from friends and since I pass it frequently, I thought I'd give it a try. My first impression was not good, the cashier was slow and acted as though he wanted to be anywhere but there. He was pouring the cream in my coffee, and I asked him to please stir it and he wandered to the kitchen area and no one had a spoon. One of the cooks needs to put his shoulder-length dreadlocks up while cooking; it's just an appetizing feel. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was $15. The bread was good and the egg, well it was an egg, not much to say. The bacon was fatty and just did not look or taste fresh. The coffee tasted like hot water and the ginger scone had a strange aftertaste. Maybe an off day, but after spending almost $28, I won't be back.

There is a dearth of bakeries in Echo Park, so I'm glad Clark Street exists. There seems to be amazing bakers working hard in the back, and I am always happy to support local. That said, I was craving a solid Everything Bagel one day and it was pretty sub-par. I also tried the saffron-pistachio croissant, which sounds amazing, but was too sweet and just not..... that good.... I went back a different time and had similar experience with other pastries.
The coffee is really good, the vibes and ambiance are also great. Can be a good place to take your parents for breakfast went they visit town.
While the disaffected staff have always been a negative of the experience, it is the reduced quality that has finally caused me to write a review. $16 tuna melt should be extraordinary. And it was, until they cheaped out and gave this basic cafeteria BS. That was the last try. Your food is as dead inside as your staff
