Coffee Connection was one of the best coffee shop in Los Angeles, it had a personality, a strong sense of community and the coffee was flavorful. It is a shame to see yet another local business lose their identity through gentrification disguised as renovation.

This used the be the best coffee shop in LA, consistently great and creative drinks, BEAUTIFUL atmosphere and a sense of community. They did nine months of renovations and now it looks like I could get a kidney transplant in the back room and the menu is basic. They destroyed a perfect thing. r.i.p coffee connection

This is kind of a sad story. This was my favorite place to go to for over a year. It WAS my third place. I was there literally daily. I enjoyed the atmosphere, their drinks, and though I mostly worked privately, I also made several really good friends from chance conversations, all of whom I would randomly see there over and over again. Being able to work in such a nice environment, while also having the possibility of connection was great. Also CRUCIAL was their hours. Coffee shops just close too early! After 4pm the only reliable, cheap third places in this town are public libraries and there is no connecting going on there.
Unfortunately, things started changing for the worst. They started to close way earlier - earlier than I would ever normally even arrive, and they removed a ton of seating, making it either very hard or uncomfortable to find a way to chill there. The crowded bustle that made connection easy, and the hours that made it a reliable third-space were both dashed.
I can imagine several reason why they might have done this - for all I know it was unsustainable financially or counter to the church’s mission or something. But at least for me, the changes were a tragic foot-gun move. It went from being my ride or die spot to being almost entirely useless. I have only been there a handful of times since.
I will probably change this 2-star review to a five in the future because I want Coffee Connection to succeed, but for now I’m putting a 2 to reflect my tragic feelings about the changes and to hopefully get them to look at this.

My friend got the iced matcha latte, one with macadamia nut milk and another with oat milk. We liked both! We'd consider stopping by again just to get a drink to-go, but not to stay for long. The cafe does have a designated parking lot, but it's still very packed. Make sure to give yourself time to drive around and find a parking spot around the area. We paid for meter parking along Venice Blvd just to save time.
Milk alternatives from their menu: Organic unsweetened almond, organic unsweetened soy, unsweetened hemp, oat, macadamia nut
For anyone with dairy milk, nut, oat, or dust allergies: They didn't have soy milk options at the time that I went. It's listed on their menu, so maybe they just ran out when I ordered. My friend has a severe dust allergy. We only lasted for about 40 minutes in the cafe because the air was really dusty and giving him a reaction.

Really nice place, not too crowded, welcoming atmosphere, open seating and coffee is great. I got the seasonal spooky coffee, very good. Vegan burritos are surprisingly yum!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options.

The coffee is fine to average, meh. The space, baristas, location and free parking lot across the street are awesome. THE MUSIC VOLUME IS SCREAMING AT YOU THE WHOLE TIME YOU'RE THERE, BLASTING EMO/ ALT ROCK so LOUD even with noise cancelling headphones- It's unreasonable, makes me not want to come back.
