First time visiting Cole’s after living in Los Angeles for over 30 years. Tried the beef dip with fries. I liked it a lot. I hope they stick around for another 100 years.

French dip sandwiches are very good (pastrami better than beef IMO).
Spicy garlic fries and mac and cheese are also excellent.
Minus one star because food took 30 minutes to come out on a Saturday evening.
Wonderful old-time ambiance, great food and cocktails plus 2 pool tables! Staff is friendly and helpful. Whatever you are doing downtown, it's a great spot for a cocktails and food!
I just love all the original 1908 decor and the food was delicious especially the high quality French Dip beef sandwich. The bourbon pecan pie is in a class all by itself a must try.

Folks were sort of friendly, I particularly enjoyed a conversation with the bouncer!
Unfortunately, the sandwich didn't settle well and I didn't feel particularly great for a couple of days, so I can't give it the best review.
Still a shame it's possibly going away! Curious what new owners will do.

Great old-school bar, buzzing with happy patrons. Solid classic French dip (the original?), but head-to-head for my money, Philippe’s gets the nod across the board—though Cole’s pickle was next-level.

My experience was as Commercial Tech from So Cal Gas Co, back in the 90’s the rest room original 1 Stove from the 1930’s, ate there on every call was quite an experience to see old Electric Street Car Headquarters used to ride J car from Lakewood to Long Beach in early 50’s.
Had to eat here before they close.

It's not the same Cole's as back when Spring st. and Main st. were the business hub of LA. With the stock exchange around the corner. Unfortunately now you might have to walk around people laying on the sidewalk. I understand that they will be closing soon. However they still have a very good beef dip sandwich, pricey but good.

Yeah, they better close. Went there once never returned. Rude service, took forever for a takeout (it's a French dip!), and overpriced. Phillipe's clowns this place. Good riddance! Go Dodgers!!!

A block away from skidrow. Go outside for a cig in between drinks and you will be asked for a light by homeless with open wounds on their face. Bouncer is useless. Good riddance. $17 gimlets. Insane. Glad you’re closing!

I went a few years back and loved it. How they are closing soon they have fallen a bit. I'm trying to recall if they always used paper plates. Or had no waiters. The men's restroom signs are gone. Food was good.

Bucket list restaurant. They rival Philip for the original French dip sandwich in LA. Come and experience this iconic dive bar before it is gone as it’s wrapping up its last few months.
