What a friendly and delicious gem! I hoped to try a Oaxacan restaurant in LA while we were visiting as I don't see many where I live but love mole. I saw this restaurant pop up as a 10 min. walk from Sony Picture Studios where we were doing a tour. Actually parking was easily available and we could have driven as well. A true gem and gift to the Westside. This family owned and operated eatery uses family recipes that have been handed down for generations—most are pre-Hispanic originating in Oaxaca. Many of the ingredients are imported from Oaxaca, Mexico and it comes through as you bite into the food and savor every bite.
My husband and I found this place randomly and I'm so glad we did. We went on Sat, 7/19 late in the afternoon and it was empty. We met the family who owns, runs and cooks, father Julio was lovely. Oaxacan food is my favorite Mexican food so I had high hopes. We got some asada street tacos, guac and chips and on their daughter's recommendation (sorry, forgot her name) the red mole which was exceptional.
