As an East Coaster who eats a fair share of bagels, I’ve found plenty of great, under-the-radar bagel spots in LA. But I don’t order lox from any of them—except here. The lox at Courage is simply perfect, possibly even better than Russ & Daughters in NYC (and I love that place). If you go during off-hours, you won’t wait long—I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Also, don’t skip the bagel with tomatoes—it’s another standout.
Leaving 5 stars because it’s not my intention to hurt a small business, and the bagels themselves are amazing. However, the service is terrible. Zero stars. It’s laughable. It’s like an LA satire skit. So rude and for what? The tipping thing is also very predatory, especially when the staff treats you like they’re better than you. Like, it’s not that serious, it’s just bagels guys. Seems like it’s time for some customer relations training
Finding the street parking spot was the most difficult part (on a Saturday morning).
Staffs are all so nice :)
