Had a good stop-in at Covell with friends. We found an open table and enjoyed the ordering process - the bartenders are so kind and happy to allow you to taste the different wines. I ended up rocking their IPA on tap (Almanac brewing from Alameda) but they had a vast selection of wines + craft beers in cans as well.Good vibes, good lighting, soft music, perfect for a chill evening with friends!Vegetarian options: Most options

We came here for Valentine's Day! While looking for something romantic but also laid-back, I came across Covell. They have an attached, intimate event space and were hosting a comedy night, as well as a live poet with a typewriter. It sounded perfect and I immediately loved how charming, unique and warm the space was. If I lived in Los Feliz, I'd be a regular here! We couldn't find a posted menu, but the way ordering works here is to describe what you're looking for to the very wine-knowledgeable bartenders, and they make recommendations for samples until you find your perfect glass. I described what I usually like and he nailed it on the first try. There is also draft beer if you aren't a wino. We were just feeling a lil peckish and ordered the Ricotta Toast and Chorizo and Dates and although they don't serve to the event space during a show, one of us saved a table while the other one went back for the food. The menu has a wide, interesting variety of snacks as well as fuller meals, which I appreciated! Overall, we had a great experience here and all of the staff were super nice. Highly recommend for a date night, catching up with friends, or just to hang out solo!

We went to an engagement party here! It's a cute speakeasy with a cool ambiance. We booked the back room on a Friday night (they require a food and drink minimum). It's a great size for a group of 15-20 standing might get tight if there were many more. It has its own bathroom and bar. Big enough for a long table our host had a large cake and had two large charcuterie platters. The food and drinks were good! Nothing specific stands out but I only stayed an hour. I would go back again! It's a little small so I'm not sure what it's like when it gets crowded. Our female bartender was friendly and nice, our room had a dedicated bartender!

Wonderful wine bar with a wide selection of different wines. Many wines are available by the glass, and you can taste a small sip beforehand. This way, you continually discover new flavors.

Love this place. It's a great date spot. I love that they do tasters and they help you pick out what you want based on your preferences. I have liked every wine I've ever had here. They have the expected cheese plates but they also have amazing macaroni and cheese, tater tots, flatbreads and sandwiches. Don't sleep on the dessert too! Unfortunately they do not take reservations so it can be really busy and hard to find a seat. It can also get super loud. I love that they are open late even on weekdays! I forgot to check if they have a happy hour deal but if they don't they should!

Came here for date night a couple weeks ago and it was such a cute spot. They don't have a wine menu so the bartenders help find the perfect wine for you based on what you like / are looking for. It was nice to try a couple wines and pick our favorite. We were worried the glasses of wine would be expensive considering we could see prices on a menu, but the prices were pretty reasonable!

This place is amazing! Not your typical wine bar. You can order specific wines but if you tell them what you like or in the mood for they'll pull 3 suggestions for you to taste. Super fun. Food is great although I wish they were a little more adventurous with the cheese & charcuterie selections.

god help you if you are stuck behind someone tasting their way through the menu while ordering. The other staff will eventually figure out that you've been standing around for a while and come save you, but it happens enough that maybe they should have a separate line for people who know what they want.I do come here enough that I can't say it's a deal breaker though. The outside seating is nice too if you bring more than a couple people.

We had a 5 cheese board and 2 glasses of wine after tip over $100. We ordered at the bar and food was served at the table. The cheese selection was good, but the plating was minimal. I asked the bus boy for water, and he said ok and then proceeded to sit within view and scan his phone. I had to get the water myself from the bar. After I requested the water the buss boy tried to jump in front and get the water for me. Bad service practices, especially for such an expensive place. The chocolate dessert was dense and just ok. Bar tender allowed us to taste the wine before serving however the taste was tiny. Glad I tried but wouldn't return. The wine was good, small pour.

Stopped in here with our nephew and his girlfriend for a pre-dinner drink. It's a clubby space, although not terribly comfortable. There are ten or twelve beers listed on a chalkboard, otherwise you belly up to the bar and are asked what "profile" you prefer in terms of wine options. They offer tiny tastes and then you make your selection. No prices listed or mentioned. So, we wound up with a $100 tab for three glasses of wine, a beer. If price is no object, knock yourself out. If you're remotely cost conscious, caveat emptor.

Wine was good. I asked for a menu and was told there was no menu and to just tell the guy what we liked and he would bring us wine accordingly, I was surprised when the bill came how much I paid per glass and I would’ve like to have known as the cost was comparable to 4-5 star restaurant which this was not… for the area it’s a nice place to meet a friend for a decent glass of wine but I am a sophisticated consumer specifically when comes to restaurants, wine bars and or lounges and I while I thought the wine was decent I did not like feeling as though I was maneuvered… again it’s not the price it’s the principle.

We snacked on the ricotta toast here. It's a chilled cheese spread and three pieces of bread was included. Snacks are a must when drinking. We mainly came here to try new wines, they have such a wide variety that there's no wine list. Instead, there are chalkboards featuring some wines, but not all. In addition, they offer beers, ciders, or a seltzer if you prefer that. The service was attentive, because they provided great recommendations in order to find the wine I was looking for. There is an outside patio along the sidewalk. Then inside was nice cozy with low and high top tables to seat 4. There's also bar seating.

The staff makes great recommendations, and the pours are unique. I like the front patio, too. Excellent spot.

The nice folks at Kismet suggested we head over to Covell for a glass of wine while we waited for our dinner table. What a treat. A really awesome vibe and a great mix of people here made for a standout little wine bar. We checked with the bartender who told us that they were serving some really great Austrian wines. I asked for a Gruner Veltliner and she gave me a great one - but had all 3 of us try out a few different wines - Austrian, Italian and more - before my friends settled on their own choices. We had a nice little high-top table against the wall and while our time there was limited to just 1 glass of wine, it was memorable. Wishing I had a place like this in my neighborhood! Great service and great attitude - patrons and staff.

I got drunk and stole some art off the walls. My girlfriend got mad at me so the next time I got drunk I snuck the art back in and put back on the wall. 5 stars on wine selection 1 star on security.
