We stopped by DAMO on a whim one Saturday afternoon. Given its popularity, we weren’t surprised by the line. It was so packed that we could barely squeeze to the counter to order. We got the matcha latte and strawberry matcha latte with cream top. I was very impressed that they whisk the matcha in a matcha bowl for every order. The matcha taste is definitely much more defined! A little pricey for a drink but given the effort in each one, I think it’s worth it as an occasional treat. With the crowd, I’d say the place is good for buying something to go, but maybe not for studying.

The Einspanner Latte and Matcha Einspanner Lattes are SO smooooth. Highly recommend! We went at around 8:30am on a weekday and were able to find easy parking in the plaza. Service was friendly and quick.

Decent. I got the plain matcha latte, it wasn't very sweet so if you like your matcha on the sweeter side, then the matcha here may not be for you. However, I also tried the strawberry matcha einspanner, it was really good, my partner enjoyed it a lot. The only downside was that the drink was nearly $9. Definitely a place that isn't on the cheaper side, my plain matcha was $6.75. The staff was very friendly, and the lines were long. I went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was about a 10 minute wait in line.

If you love matcha and chocolate, RUN don't walk to Damo to get the chocolate forest drink! Simply epic 👌 strong matcha flavor, not overly sweet and the chocolate cream was everything I wanted 🤤

lovely staff and tasty drinks, but a part of the bamboo from the whisk fell off onto my matcha and scratched the roof of my mouth😅😅

Finally tried this place after hearing so many people rave about their matcha!
I decided to order their matcha latte as opposed to their eispanner because I don’t like super sweet drinks. I asked if their latte comes sweetened and it comes with 1.5 pumps of sweetener. I decided to keep it as is to see how it’s supposed to taste.
I see why people like it. I can taste the matcha and it’s pretty good. It is towards the sweeter side for me though. I would’ve probably asked for half sweet or only .5 pumps of sweetener, but that is just a personal preference.
We came in on a friday afternoon around noon and it was difficult to find parking, but the line at damo wasn’t too bad. There were about 4 people ahead of me in line, and after I ordered, I waited maybe 5-7 minutes for my order, not bad.
There is okay amount of seating inside, but it was full (as expected) when we got there. There is also a bathroom for customers.

Absolutely love this place’s matcha drinks! I’ve tried matcha einspener and matcha strawberry and love both! I avoid going here on the weekend because of very long queue. Weekdays are much better! Not many seats available and very crowded.

I have been coming back and back to this tea shop since late 2022. It is my first stop when I’m in LA. Even though we’ve tried many other cafes, Damo is still our favorite. I highly recommend this cafe. It is very busy during almost all business hours, so if you want to sit you should be there at opening. I don’t drink coffee so I can’t speak about their coffees, but all of their tea drinks are fantastic.
