**Review of Dan Restaurant**

We’ve been to Dan Restaurant several times before, and while the food has always been decent, our recent visit left us extremely disappointed. My husband and I went for dinner, hoping for a relaxing evening, but the experience was far from enjoyable.

We arrived and were seated at 6:10 PM. By 6:40 PM, we were already out the door. The entire meal felt rushed, and we were left with the impression that the staff just wanted us to leave as quickly as possible.

As soon as we placed our order, the food arrived in under two minutes, which was surprising but not necessarily a bad thing. However, the waiters started clearing our plates almost immediately after we finished each course. Before we even had a chance to relax or digest our meal, the bill was placed on our table without us asking for it. It felt like we were being pushed out the door. The only thing they didn’t do was verbally tell us to leave, but the message was clear.

We’re not sure if Dan Restaurant is trying to operate as a fast-food place or a proper dining establishment, but this experience was far from what we expected. The lack of hospitality and the rushed service really ruined what should have been a pleasant dinner. We hope this isn’t the new norm, as we’ve enjoyed our visits in the past, but this time, it was a letdown.

Forget about parking anywhere near the place. As for food, let's just say we paid twice as much as we typically do, it's the west side after all, for about average quality food with serving sizes that are about a third less than typical Chinese takeout.

Inflation has hit this place so hard that they do not serve their chicken with rice anymore, but you have to order it separately. What a disappointment. The business saved 10 cents and lost a client.

Sub-par take on ‘modern’ Chinese. It’s basically American Chinese with a little bit of different flare and frankly worse flavor. The noodles were actually difficult to bite through because they were so undercooked, the sauce was far too sweet without an ounce of savory flavor, and it was essentially Where’s Waldo trying to find any short rib in the namesake of the dish. We ate in at the restaurant too.

Classic hard pass in Sawtelle area. So many better both authentic or just Americanized Asian food that simply tastes better. Moreover, it was quite expensive even if the quality was superb. No idea why this place gets mentioned on Reddit or any parts of the internet. I wanted to like it, but it frankly isn’t underwhelming, it just kinda sucks in almost every aspect. Perhaps an off night for them, but yikes.

This place used to be good but something has changed lately. Twice in a month we've gotten significant GI distress after eating here

Food is great, i liked the short rib fried rice, the beans as side, the three cup chicken . Food arrived quick and the server was very kind and professional.
I was disappointed because of some kid’s nostopping screaming, i think the restaurant manager should have kindly said something to the kid’s parents because it s very annoying for the other guests.
