My husband and I were visiting LA and had the pleasure of dining at this unique neighborhood gem. The hospitality and service was excellent and so was the food. I most enjoyed the very fresh hummus and fire roasted vegetables. Portions were generous. Free parking was easy to find on the side street. What a lovely place for dinner! The unique large stained glass rose is striking and creates a romantic yet casually comfortable atmosphere.

This is an extremely unsafe restaurant. They have an unattended German Shepherd that lunges at other dogs passing by. There’s always people present when this occurs and they never do anything. Be careful.

I sat on the patio on a Friday night — a great way to enjoy a late LA spring as the sun went down.
I got the beef shawarma sandwich after a bit of deliberation. The beef had a smoky char but alone was a little bit dry, so the tahini sauce really helped bring it back to life. It did feel a little bit greasy, though. I thought the ratio between the wrap and the contents was spot on; no notes. The salad was a pretty standard Greek salad and I think if it had feta it would’ve really elevated it.
Service is quite slow (it sounded like the kitchen and waitstaff were both extremely overwhelmed) so budget a bit of time for your trek out here. My server Eddy was SO sweet, though! He checked in on me multiple times and made sure that I had everything I needed.

The Desert Rose is a beautiful big open space where fire pits and red umbrellas are open to welcome you. A very beautiful red stained glass rose greets you in the open courtyard and it illuminates at night. The Beef Shawarma is not to be missed & the dolmas are so authentically made. Andrew was a fun and kind server and verified The Happy Hour starts at 4pm and goes until 6pm daily. This is a great spot for larger parties and wine-o-clocks. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot with excellent middle-eastern cuisine made from the spices of faraway lands look no further than Desert Rose.

The service is impeccable, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and always eager to offer suggestions. Andrew was our server and was very patient and tentative to our party. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, they make you feel at home, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Highly recommend.

Desert Rose is a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a vibrant atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The food? Simply divine! Every bite was a delight, especially the Branzino and Truffle Portobello Pizza, which was fresh and full of flavor. The drink menu was impressive, featuring unique cocktails that paired perfectly with the meal. But the highlight of the night was the exceptional service. Andrew went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making us feel like valued guests. I left with a full stomach and a big smile—definitely a place I’ll be returning to!
