Hands down, this is one of the best Asian dishes I've had! The garlic green beans are crispy perfection, the Mongolian beef is tender and savory, ~and~ the orange chicken is out of this world. And let's not forget the potstickers and dumplings - they're absolutely addictive! The flavors, textures, and presentation all come together to create an unforgettable dining experience. Highly, highly recommend! Food is hot! And service is super friendly and everything came out super quick.

So, based on the reviews, figured I’d give this place a shot since I love dim sum, and was raised on it pretty much in New York City.

The first thing that struck me was how unfriendly the one gentleman that I saw running the place was to me. After reading a few reviews about how friendly the staff is- was kind of stunned, that he abruptly kind of tossed a menu at me and dropped a pen on it. Apparently he can’t be bothered with Caucasians who don’t speak Chinese.

I asked him a few polite questions about the different items, but since he’s limited in his English, we didn’t get far.

Also, confused by reviews that say this is the only dim sum place in West LA – in case you weren’t aware, a few blocks away closer to UCLA is a really really amazing dim sum house that has larger portions, and the prices are close to half of what these prices are.

I ordered one dish just to get an idea of quality, and I have to say it was mediocre.

All I can think is that all these great reviews must be from people who either weren’t raised on dim sum or have lost context for what really great dim sum is supposed to be.

But at close to $10 for for a little bit of 4 shrimp dumplings …??

Try IXLB Literally just down the street. You’ll be glad that you did.

Dimsum and food are good. Services can be improved since there is only one person serving the whole restaurant. If the restaurant is crowded, expect delays in getting your orders.

This place is a hidden delight. Every dish is perfect, and the man who runs it is a super human- efficient, funny, and kind. Folks are sleeping on this place.

My wife doesn't eat beef or pork, and neither of us eats shrimp so that severely limits our dim sum choices. I found this place on Yelp and we tried it over a year ago. My wife was not convinced so we didn't go back. A year later she was looking up dim sum places closer than SGV (San Gabriel Valley) and saw this place. We decided to try it again and have been here twice more. I would say that for us and any who prefer chicken that this place has the most choices of dim sum with chicken than any other restaurant including in SGV. This is good dim sum. The wrappers aren't the thinnest I've had and the inconsistent shapes show me that these are house made not something from the freezer. The chicken filling is tasty and has good texture. We've been happy with every dish that we've tried. Oh, and the custard tarts... They are wonderful. This is a medium-sized restaurant in a strip mall. There is parking and street parking with a security guard in their lot. The parking lot can get full. The restaurant is bright and airy, pretty clean. At lunch during the week, there is only one server so things can get a little backed up and confused, but he does a pretty good job and is friendly. I am so thankful that good Chinese food is becoming more common on the west side.

We always enjoy the food at Dim sum House! And we don't have to go far! I love the shu mai and the scallion pancake and the baked BBQ pork buns! The crispy shrimp balls and sesame balls are good too!

Hidden gem - dim sum staples were all great but the veggie dishes were a standout. Very fast service too!

Food was good, but no semblance of service, seemed to be understaffed, once we flagged someone down and ordered the food came swiftly but in no particular order (dessert food came before entrees). Seems like a takeout place that happens to have a dine-in area.

They have all the dim sum right here in West LA.
You don't have to go all the way out to Monterey Park to get it

The baked pork buns were doughy and didn't have much filling. The pork soup dumplings didn't have much flavor. Ordered a diet coke and he just plopped a 12 oz can on the table without a glass or ice.
