Worst experience at Downtown Kabob 📍 934 S Los Angeles St #6, Los Angeles, CA 90015 This was by far the worst Persian food experience I’ve ever had. We visited Downtown Kabob on Monday, December 22, for lunch and ordered the Shish Soltani, which includes ground beef, filet mignon, and salmon kabob with rice. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The ground beef had a bad smell, and the filet mignon was excessively salty. Do to my wife’s health issues when I brought this to the employee’s attention, his response was simply that they’ve been serving it this way for 36 years, with no concern or effort to address the issue. The rice was cold, and despite mentioning it to the staff, there was no reaction or apology. The salmon was heavily seasoned with curry, which felt completely out of place for a Persian dish—it honestly felt like I was eating at an Indian restaurant. Given the poor quality of the food, the prices were very high and absolutely not worth it. This was my first and last visit. I do not recommend this place—don’t waste your time or money. We ended up throwing all the food away because of the smell and but taste.

The food is great, we order it often! But the delivery guys ALWAYS REFUSES to come bring our food to our office. Why are we tipping for delivery to not be done properly? It’s so annoying I’ve called the restaurant to bring it up but he literally always makes us go downstairs.

Kabob plates were astonishingly made well. Not quite Persian, and not quite Mediterranean. It was a very well-balanced mix between the two cuisines. Boneless chicken and chicken koobideh were tasty, well-seasoned and all gone by the end of the meal. A hidden gem of a take-to-go or dine-in shop.

3 Stars because the food is not like it used to be, the chicken was dry very acidic like if it was soak in vinegar or lemon juice, the chicken bones are very small wondering if it is quail meetand they sell it as chicken ;/ the cucumber salad has regular cucumbers they used to put Persian cucumbers. I understand that prices went up but D.K. rises the price too so I expected the plate to be well prepare since they motto is "We serve good food as fast as we can". I almost forgot to mention they don't add roasted tomato to every plate like they used to.Overall I was not happy with the "Bone in Chicken" & Beef plate that I've paid delivery service, tip, plus tax I would say around $22.BTW the rice with the button crust it is good and normal to eat it, many people think that it is left overs rice. :)

The standout feature was undeniably the flavorful food, with each dish boasting a perfect fusion of spices and seasonings. Portion sizes were impressively large, ensuring that even the heartiest appetites left fully satisfied. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the great price point, averaging around $15 per dish, making it a budget-friendly yet high-quality dining option. The efficiency of the service was notable, with our orders arriving promptly despite the bustling atmosphere. Without hesitation, I would recommend Downtown Kabob to friends and family
