Haven’t been to LA in ages and swore that we’d get lunch at this Californian institution next time we were in town. But we’d become vegetarians between then and now. Still managed to get something good though. Grilled cheese (not the animal one), fries, chocolate milkshake. The place was packed, but it wasn’t loud or claustrophobic; we barely had to wait for a seat. (The drive-through was doing brisk business too.) Had read, as well as watched, reviews so was eager to experience the burgers & the planes. Liked the restaurant and the retro decor. The planes landing were just awesome. The only thing that let it down was the food, I’m sorry to say. My Double Double started off well but became slippery and soggy by the end.
