East Side Deli in DTLA delivers true Italian deli authenticity.
The moment you walk in, the place has that classic, old-school charm—walls filled with character, the hum of a busy counter, and a warm neighborhood energy that feels genuine, not forced. It’s the kind of deli that clearly values tradition and keeps things simple in the best way.
The Caprese sandwich reflects that approach: fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and the straightforward preparation you expect from a proper Italian deli. Nothing overdone, just quality and care.
East Side Deli is a great reminder of what a real neighborhood deli should feel like. A solid spot in DTLA for anyone who appreciates authenticity, good food, and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.

Been eating hot sandwiches for years here. But, tried cold sandwich ... no Bueno. Hard as a rock bread, crappy dressing. Nahh, I'm good.

Today was my first time ordering. The both sandwiches were great. However I paid for extras that were ultimately not included. I cant and wont ever break down a sandwich to spot check any restaurant at pick up. Its a busy place, mistakes happen.

When I was a kid, I would stay with my grandparents after school until I got picked up to go home. More often than not, my grandpa would bring his leftover sandwich home after work at DWP and I thought it was the most delicious sandwich I'd ever had, not knowing where its from.
Now that he's passed, I've since found out the sandwiches are from Eastside Deli and whenever I have a chance to go out here I order his #7 roast beef/pastrami.
To keep the tradition going and also to keep a piece of him with me and remember the good times and also have an amazing sandwich. Let's go Dodgers!

Got delivery, ordered 3 sides and all of them were missing. Also the bread is too hard, it’s not fresh.
Best deli in Los Angeles! Large sandwiches that have high quality ingredients and bread.

Thanks to Eastside for providing our Employee Appreciation Day lunch last week, 10/08. As usual the sandwiches were on point. Thank you to the staff for their great work.
