El Cafe de Olla was NOT cafe de olla. Sabia a cafe negro regular. El huarache estaba muy pequeno para el precio. La barbacoa estaba un poco desabrida. La carne azada y el agua de pepino con limon estaban buenas. They charge you for chips and salsa. You have to ask for them as a side. They don't take your check to the table, they input order to register as you wait to pay, which makes you wait longer to pay and you can't see what you are charged for unless you ask.
As the name suggests, the huaraches are the star. Thick masa base, beans, cheese, and meat piled high. Salsa is spicy but tasty. The space is casual and no-frills. Perfect late-night comfort food
The food is delicious and very authentic. The service not so good. I went on a Saturday and it was busy. We waited 10-15 mins for someone to get our orders and our food took a long time to come out. Recommend coming for the food but maybe don’t come on a Saturday.
