We arrived for our reservation at 8:15 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was completely empty and getting ready to close. Not sure why they took our reservation when they were planning on closing. Looked at the menu, and I can only assume the Engine Company has sold recently, or lost their chef as the menu was completely different from what it used to be, all the great comfort food dishes were gone which was the whole reason we went there in the first place.

My quinoa salad was spectacular. Made to order, fresh, crunchy and perfectly proportioned.

Great food and experience. The outdoor patio is everything. One of the best burgers I've had in DTLA

Can’t say enough good things—our host/server/bartender Brianna was fantastic. Super attentive, great personality, and made the night perfect.

The two busser waiters passed me by twice without saying a word, finally the bartender came out and asked me where I wanted to sit, I said against the wall. The busser waiter said no seats available. Mind you an entire row was available and there were 3 wall seats on the other side. Really? He sat me in the middle of the entire restaurant and I sat there for 5 mins without a drink or any type of acknowledgment. So I got up and sat at the bar. Bartender was awesome, older male maybe in his 40s. Bill came up and the automatically bill 20% tip? Wow. How audacious. Funny, they didn’t do this the last time I came back in August. Get your shit straight.

Karen was amazing, lemon drop was so good and my whisky double and coke was smooth. Meat balls and marinara sauce was delicious.

Karen made the BEST lemon drop!
The meatballs were SO TASTY and even though the prices were a bit steep, I have never had a better time at an airport bar than TODAY!

Was very tired after a 12 hour flight, and was dreading my 3 hour layover at LAX before my next flight, but I was so relieved to find this place. The main appeal is the excellent service, Karen was such a fantastic bartender! She helped guide me through the menu and I was very pleased with the sandwich and drinks I had. Will definitely be stopping here any time I fly out of LAX!

The food and service were great!! I was really hoping it would have more of the old firehouse visible but it's all paneled up. I love the history of old building which is why I chose this place. Overall excellent though. Food was delicious and the service was wonderful.

Karen was THE VERY BEST Bartender at United LAX!
She has an ability to give 100 percent of herself to each customer- Spending time at her bar is a JOY and you will feel like you are leaving on vacation - even if it’s a dull work trip. Fresh squeezed watermelon martinis, Bloody Mary- She does it all!
Thanks Karen XOXO

Not crowded, but very noisy. The bartender was good, but the waitperson just disappeared. Food selection was good and the beet salad was good. .
