This is a must visit shop when visiting Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Located across the street from Tokyo Village, this stand alone family business has been selling their mochi and manju since 1903. Master Manju maker, Brian Kito is the third generation carrying on this exquisite Japanese product line. Their store offers a wonderful selection of handmade mochi and manju. I highly recommend their Strawberry mochi, which is absolutely delicious!
Japan Super accepts Online Orders only and ships Fugetsu-Do products to most of the contiguous US states, Hawaii & Alaska (additional ship charges apply). Most items ship via UPS Next Day Air. Local So. California orders usually ship via UPS ground or can be picked up at our Monterey Park location. Fugetsu-Do orders are delivered freshly made to our area on Tuesday & Thursday only.
I heard a lot about this mochi shop and been wanting to go for years. I got to go twice the past month; the workers warmly welcomed customers! They were patient in explaining what flavors they had. Mochi is really soft even after a day later, I would love to come back more to support.
I personally liked the mango and red bean mochi with soubena powder the most.
It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the Little Tokyo station.
