Located in the historic Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, the Gallery Bar and Cognac Room is a luxurious space with a bygone era design. The building itself is incredible, with gorgeous ceilings and detailing, and the ambiance is sophisticated and elegant. The food is excellent, with highlights including the Biltmore Burger, featuring a flavorful angus beef patty, good cheeses, and grilled onions, and the salmon dinner, served with a healthy portion, savory beurre blanc sauce, potatoes, and broccoli rabe. The dessert menu is also noteworthy, with a delicious chocolate mousse-cake dome and a tuna wasabi sushi mound appetizer that is easily shared. While the service can be a bit hit-or-miss, with some staff members appearing frantic and others attentive, the overall experience is pleasant and luxurious.
