My family had dinner at Geisha several months ago for my mom's 60th birthday. It was the wrong place for a momentous celebratory dinner--my parents stubbornly insisted on it because they knew the owners, and so we gave in, even though we wanted to treat them to more of a special occasion blowout, perhaps somewhere not inside the Aroma building. Anyway, we had planned to go back, but the place has apparently closed. I kind of understand why. It was hidden away on an upper floor of a commercial Koreatown building, where it was, I believe, the only sit-down restaurant. The atmosphere was nice once you got inside, and service was very welcoming. But the price point was high, and the food was not so good that you'd pick Geisha over a similarly priced Japanese restaurant in a more intuitive location. We all went with the omakase option, which came with a combination of sushi and prepared dishes. There were a lot of little bites--shiitake mushroom and scallops, bluefin toro tartare with osetra caviar, Kusshi oyster, Alaskan king crab, three-hour cooked abalone, and takowasa, I believe. We had yakitako, or grilled octopus, with potato, and black cod with miso. There were a few sushi courses with red snapper, seared toro, octopus, bluefin tuna, kanpachi, bonito, toro, and uni. I think there was a hand roll in there, too, though I forget what (read: can't tell from this old-ass picture I'm looking at on my phone). We had some kind of bibimbap, and some cheesecake--plain and green tea--for dessert. The food was inconsistent, the sushi better than the prepared food. A lot of things came out too hot or too cold, which wasn't great. Geisha was definitely an odd venue for a 60th birthday dinner, but it might've been worth a visit on a less significant night. In any case, the place is closed now, so just wrapping up my Yelp review, nothing to see here.

Came here for a nice romantic evening with my wife. We did some omokase and fell in love with the chef's selections, presentation and demeanor. This is a gold standard sushi place. Enjoy!

Outstanding location for delicious japanese food. it's so savory. definitely worth going back to. the bill was good for what you get.

The was definitely one of the best place for sashimi. The fish was fresh. The food there was just different, not the traditional Japanese restaurant. Everything I tried was great. Be prepared to spend more money than usual Japanese Restaurant. We paid about $80 for 2 people.

Service was great. Food came out quick. Every dish was a piece of heaven. One highlight was the tempura soba. The noodles were served warm in a nice light broth and the tempura veggies were lightly battered to perfection. Such simple yet tasty dish. Every sashimi or sushi tried melts in your mouth and oh so delicious. I will come back for the omakase very soon!

Fish is fresh! My mouth was watering when I laid eyes on my aji. It melted in my mouth. It had been weeks maybe even months since I've an aji nigiri that yummy! I love the selection tai, medai, ono, toro and much more! Even the surprising lamb apple sushi has me coming back. The way those flavors mingle in your mouth with the meaty taste of lamb, delicate sweetness of balsamic sauce, and the crunch of an apple ooowheeee!! Make a reservation or come early because the tables and bar fill up fast!

japanese food, yeah, so good. Stopped in on a Tuesday. This place has a cool atmosphere. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I liked.

Find this place in the city on Tuesday night as a lot of restaurants close today. Very small restaurant but kind of clean. The food is good but kind of pricy as 3 adults+2 kids spent $200 for a dinne

We tried the tasting menu today and it was terrific!! Definately would give another try with different menus too. Tasting menu serves you several small plates. Athough each dishes are small, there are various dishes provided so you will stay feel full after the foods. Every food looked nice, smelled good and taste soooooo wonderful. Sushi and sashimi were very soft that I thought it melted in my mouth. Recommend you so much
