We went for a late lunch since we were in a bit of a rush. Overall, the food was OK but not great compared to other Korean restaurants in LA. The small side dishes were very good though.

Really good kbbq i loves their marinated kalbi and yukhoe, they also had really good banchan and good sake; the ambiance is also really nice since they keep the place bit dim its a great place for date night, taste wise its just as good as many of the ktown kbbq’s that Ive tried, the staff was super friendly as well, highly recommended

Their spread of banchan is amazing and almost all of them were very delicious and flavorful. Meats are also high quality and tender. I think our combo had kalbi, skirt steak and bulgogi. We added spicy pork bulgogi as well. A bit pricey but worth the splurge. Always walking out stuffed.

Came for my husbands birthday. Everything was wonderful! They essentially cooked the meet for us at the table and everything was so yummy!
Came here on a work trip. The food is good, but a bit pricy. Service was friendly and attentive. With all the banchan you get, you can easily order just one dish between two people (which makes the pricing much more reasonable). Don't be shy about asking for refills!
The spicy pork bulgogi was excellent. As one of my favorite dishes, I have tried it at many restaurants. This was a solid one. Not as spicy as I would have liked, and just a little too sweet, but delicious nonetheless.

I went in at 9, they close at 10, checked if that was fine. They should have said no if that was a problem. Then got sides said it’s last time they will get as it’s 9.10 I was like ok, then food came and the bibimbap I ordered was missing tofu which I asked for and he said I could just have it on side which would’ve been ok if it was quick food but this was fancier and I was there for like an experience but ok, then I was eating at 9.25ish and he came with check and asked to pay right away as they’re closing which I said ok to. Then he came again at 9.27 and asked me to sign while I was still eating which got a bit annoying as he kept coming every two minutes for something, but ok I get it. But the last straw was when he came again at 9.38ish and asked me to leave as he wanted to clean table. Like what I thought the restaurant is open till 10. If me eating at 9 was a problem they should have not given me a table to begin with. It’s a high end restaurant and I want to just sit and enjoy my food in peace. Put a last service time rather than giving me so many issues.
Food flavor was good

My sister and I were in LA for a convention and decided to celebrate her birthday dinner at Genwa. We ordered the course for two, and every dish was fantastic. The spread of banchan was plentiful and flavorful, and the BBQ meats were cooked to perfection. Anna took such great care of us—she answered all of our questions and even helped with the grilling, which made the experience extra enjoyable. We never felt rushed and were able to take our time savoring the food and the whole KBBQ experience. To top it all off, the staff surprised my sister with pandan ice cream and sang happy birthday, which made the evening so special. Highly recommend Genwa for both the food and the service!

Tried this place for the first time and the food and service were amazing! The meats as well as the side dishes were very fresh and delicious. Our server was Angela and she was super nice, she always checked up on us and refilled the banchan without us having to ask. We were a bit hesitant due to the prices, but it was definitely worth it with the awesome customer service we received. The restaurant itself was very clean and sanitary, overall 10/10 would come back when I’m in DTLA :)

Great food. Amazing cultural vibe. Our waitress was great. She took care of us from beginning to end. Can’t wait to be back. I had more than enough food to take home.

Genwa serves premium quality meat and seafood. We ordered Course D for 4 people and we all left quite satisfied.
The restaurant is dark and the booths feel cramp. We dined on a Saturday and only 3 tables were occupied for the 2 hours we were there. I guess it was a very slow day.
