My sister and I were in LA for a convention and decided to celebrate her birthday dinner at Genwa. We ordered the course for two, and every dish was fantastic. The spread of banchan was plentiful and flavorful, and the BBQ meats were cooked to perfection. Anna took such great care of us—she answered all of our questions and even helped with the grilling, which made the experience extra enjoyable. Tried this place for the first time and the food and service were amazing! The meats as well as the side dishes were very fresh and delicious. Our server was Angela and she was super nice, she always checked up on us and refilled the banchan without us having to ask. We were a bit hesitant due to the prices, but it was definitely worth it with the awesome customer service we received. Genwa serves premium quality meat and seafood. We ordered Course D for 4 people and we all left quite satisfied.
The restaurant is dark and the booths feel cramp. We dined on a Saturday and only 3 tables were occupied for the 2 hours we were there. I guess it was a very slow day.
