I like this place, but it needs staff to serve people faster. The line gets very long and we have to wait more than 10 minutes for them to serve us 😬

I live nearby and come here all the time (and am Cuban, raised in Miami). I usually get the croquetas and sometimes pastelitos. The Cuban pastry options are pretty slim, weirdly. The vaca frita and sándwiches are acceptable, but the croquetas have kept me coming back because they’re fried fresh and seem to be caseros. The last time I ordered them (about 1-2 weeks ago) they were salty to the point of being inedible. Today, I walked in and waited behind (1) person for 25 minutes and left with nothing. There were at least three people working the front. I had to cut my losses and bounce but wow… it hurts wasting that much time to not even get a “be with you in a minute.”

This has to be one of the best places in all of Los Angeles. I get a pastel de pollo, pastel de carne, y un cafe con hielo, all for $5.73. I get really great service every time. Extremely delicious, affordable, and soothing.

I don't usually give bad opinions about places I visit but this was my first time that I didn't like the service in a place, the place was dirty, the food was more or less but it differs a lot from the photograph they publish and that's not good...
I hope if I return things have changed...
What I did like are the displays of old things.

This place is cool. The sweetened iced coffee with milk is a must!

One thing that irritates me is that every time that I am waiting in line, there always seems to be flies in the cases where the bread is. So when someone eats it, they are eating more than the bread. The workers don't really seem to care either... they just help out whoever is next....so gross!

Also, the last time I was there, I noticed they have a lot of regulars, and they seem to take priority than other people. I ordered 3 meat empanadas and a coffee. Immediately after me three gentlemen walked in, the cashier recognized them, and her demeanor just changed...she was attentive, she made sure to make their coffee, get them their fly bitten bread and then when she was done with them she started making my coffee.

The lady then motioned another worker for me to pick up my order...the lady had no clue as to where my coffee was...until I asked!

So rude! Anyway...I won't let one little bad episode ruin my opinion of the place.

Check it out!

Beautiful interior. Cubano was excellent. Beef empanada was baked and was very good and delicious filling. I took out but wonderful atmosphere to eat in.

The coffee was really good, I saw a lot of reviews saying to try the horchata latte, so I did and yup it was good, they also said service was pretty bad which they were also right. Not sure if the workers do it on purpose or they don’t like each other, I was the only one ordering at the time it was around 6pm so not many people. They did take my order pretty fast, but they took maybe 10-15 minutes to give me a small horchata latte.

It sat there, I saw it done in about 3 minutes after ordering, I’m also not the type of person to press an issue about a coffee so I waited, until the lady that took my order came from the back and said can I help you, which I said yeah I’m still waiting for the coffee, she said omg I’m sorry and looked at her coworker and said “ you haven’t given him the coffee I told you to.” Almost in a hatred way, not sure what’s going on between workers. Hope they can have better service and it would be a 9/10!

The cashiers service was terrible, very rude and not welcoming towards customers. Flies wondering around the cakes and the bread which is disgusting and can get people sick. Never coming here again what a waste of time and money.

Waited there in front for about ten minutes trying to order. There was three employees and only three people in there. So no greeting people at the door or saying I'll be right with you. Nothing really bad customer service. Which sucks cause I love the food here but I won't be coming back again.

Honestly the food is not bad, but the owner is just a terrible person. I am all about supporting small business but when you have an attitude like the one he has, you just have to shop somewhere else. It's a shame that people have to be that way for literally no reason.
