I ordered some bread but forgot to pick it up that day. When I went back the next day, they told me I had to pay again! That makes absolutely no sense

I waited over 30 minutes for a simple bread order at this place. When the order was finally ready, no one informed us, even though we were standing inside the store the whole time. The staff acted rude when we asked for an update, and none of their systems seemed to work to notify customers. Very disappointing experience and not worth the wait. I would not recommend this location.

In regards to the South Coast Takeout / Santa Ana location: Do NOT order from this scam of a place. It is a ghost kitchen with no staff working at the counter and you have to order on a tablet and wait to pick up your order from a locker. I was told to wait 3-6 mins for my order and ended up waiting until past 30 mins and my order was still not ready to pick up. You can’t even check on your order because there’s no staff to talk to. If you try to check on your order through the link they give you, they will just keep telling you it’s delayed. You’re at the mercy of a tablet and some pretty irresponsible workers. They all hide in the back and ignore you even though you try to ask for help. Never coming back to this shitshow of a bakery.
Good taste but too expensive

Really good fragrant, soft, fluffy Japanese milk bread. It operates out of a ghost kitchen where you can pickup in person or from your car. Expensive, but worth it once in a while as a treat.

This review is only on the bread as it was a X’mas gift. At first I didn’t understand how on earth a loaf of bread can cost $18 and being packaged as a gift?Well, I followed the instruction on best way to enjoy it. I finished 1/2 loaf in December and froze the other 1/2.Now it’s January, I took out the other 1/2 and let it defrost on its own over the counter, then sliced a thick slice, gently toasted and enjoyed it daily. Now, I’m eating the last piece. ?This is by far the BEST bread I have ever had!!! It’s unbelievable how well it freezes and it tastes as good as fresh! It is worth every dollar of it. I would get more except there is only one location and it very far. I will put it on my wishlist to Santa.??

Best white bread you can get on earth. Didn’t know I could get this excited to eat white bread. It’s like bread from the high heaven accidentally fell down for us mortals to taste.

I'm 73 years old born and raised in California and this is what I love about California so many surprises. So many wonderful different types of food and people. My father used to say Pamela there's only one race and it's called human and everybody in Los Angeles brings flavor to our state and our city called Los Angeles. But anywhere in Southern California you'll find great surprises all you have to do is look this bread is beyond amazing it would be a wonderful Christmas gift or Easter gift yes it's a little expensive at $18 a loaf plus tax but it's a gift somebody won't forget very soon God bless you all sincerely Pamela
I love their bread. Try not to go right at lunch time and you can get waited on quicker
Ginza Nishikawa only sells shokupan, a Japanese milk bread. It is the softest, fluffiest white bread that you will taste. It melts in your mouth. There are no preservatives; ingredients are just ionized water, cream, butter, honey, and Japanese white flour. Sooooo good. It's delicious on its own, or get creative with recipes - french toast, sandwiches, avocado toast...It used to be difficult to get a loaf, like a Black Friday doorbuster, but they seem to have expanded their options so if you can't order in advance, you can also order from Locale and Goldbelly. They also have a limited supply of loaves available for walk-ins. Follow their IG for pop-ups around town.Located inside the Colony; street parking. Highly recommend!
The bread is very good. It’s soft and little sweet. But it’s $20 per loaf. Considering the price, it won’t be a everyday bread for an ordinary average person like me ?
