Gloria's Cuisine LA is a cute, busy spot that is vibrant and lively, but mixed opinion with the food I ate.
More than just a hole in the wall, Gloria's is popular especially on an early Sunday afternoon with a decent waiting list outside (sidewalk seating need more shade). Inside, the waiters are friendly and the decor and vibe are lively.
When it comes to the food, though. I really only like the platano . It's hard to mess fried plantain bananas but they do change it up a bit with the goat cheese, and the cream sauce they added. They make the dish a bit more interesting although the cream sauce can be a bit heavy if you dip into thst cream a bit too much.
Sadly the avocado toast is somewhat underwhelming. Avocado toast seems like a straightforward dish, but it can easily be too one-note in flavor like it is here. The tomatoes, chili, and pickled sweet peppers do little to add a bit of intrigue and delight to the tastebuds, as they are overtaken by the over abundance of avocado that is surprisingly a bit flat. It's almost like it's missing some salt, pepper, or something to kick up the flavor a bit more. So yes, the avocado toast is nice to look at, but underwhelming.

This review is long overdue! I’ve been to Gloria’s five times now, and trust me, it would be even more if I were a local. Gloria’s was recommended by a family member who is local, and honestly, I can’t imagine my life without it.
Each time I’ve gone, the food has been consistently amazing, and the staff is incredibly friendly. My husband is obsessed with the chipotle chilaquiles and swears by them for anyone who loves chilaquiles. He says they have the perfect blend of sauce and crispy tortilla crunch.
If you haven’t been to Gloria’s yet, you’re missing out!

I have been a loyal patron of Glorias for quite some time, but my recent experience has left me disappointed. On my last visit, I arrived with my family, including a young child, and was told that we would have to wait for a table to be prepared. After 15 long minutes of waiting, I was hopeful when the staff assured me that they would have a table ready shortly. However, to my dismay, a group of four people, who appeared to be acquaintances of the staff, arrived and were promptly seated at the very table we had been told was being cleaned.
This was incredibly frustrating, as we ended up waiting a total of 37 minutes, all while standing outside in the scorching sunlight. Unfortunately, Glorias does not have a shaded waiting area, and the heat made the situation even more uncomfortable for my child. While I understand that restaurants have their policies, I believe they should show more consideration for families, especially those with young children.
Given the poor customer service and the lack of courtesy we experienced, I cannot recommend Glorias to others.

It is a very busy restaurant, it is the best in food in the area but you have to wait to be served and the waiting time is 30 minutes

Popular spot to say the least! Especially on Sundays!! I had their chilaquiles plate and what seemed like bottomless cups Café De Olla. It's a very warm atmosphere. I would honestly just stop by for a cáfe de olla.. And I totally have!

Great hidden gem in Highland Park. The scrambled eggs were amazing. The barbacoa breakfast tacos are super delicious. Definitely on my list to return

Café de olla was great.
Customer service was awesome.
Interior design is beautiful.
Music doesn’t match the theme or the name of the restaurant at all, it threw me off lol
With a name like Gloria’s you’d expect some mexican or spanish music that’s just my opinion ;)

Had gone to eat there with my family. The food was very tasty. I would definitely go back. We had ordered the Chipotle chilaquiles. It had black beans and over easy eggs with topped with an avocado. It was so delicious! We also ordered the vegan enchiladas Suizas and the carmelized plantains. Wow, they were super delicious! My nephew had ordered the churro waffles. He enjoyed them. We ordered the cafe de la olla. The coffee was very good. The service was great, and the gentleman was helpful in helping to choose the dishes that i was unsure of choosing. Very nice little spot but very busy.

Overall food was great. I had the red chilaquiles, they were tasty but not spicy. I would’ve prefer them to be a little spicy. The cafe de olla was also very good.
