This is the best fried chicken I’ve had! I love the sauces and fruit combination. The portions are family size. I want to come here again becuz I loved it that much!

We decided to try this spot after seeing it recommended on TikTok, and it absolutely did not disappoint! The food was unbelievably delicious and the service was outstanding. We ordered the regular fried chicken plate, which was perfect for sharing. It came with three flavorful sauces and a medley of fresh fruit topped with a fantastic glaze. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-visit!

Super unique and interestingly tasty!

My new favorite. Huge, fresh portions that are not only beautiful to look at but are absolutely delicious. Plus he is a director and has a sound booth in the restaurant. Really cool atmosphere

Went to eat here given the high % of 5 star reviews and was very disappointed by the chicken. It wasn’t tender and the sauce was really sweet and felt like it was jam. Went with a large party and everyone was disappointed with the chicken. Also wasn’t hot anymore when we got our order, perhaps due to the owner making too much and it had to sit there as he wanted to bring it out all at once. Would recommend he serve it right away. Would not go back. The atmosphere was notable and impressed he is a solo owner doing everything but the downsides outweigh the upside. Very slow service.

Outstandingly unique and delicious chicken. My favorite restaurant in LA. Immaculate aura and vibe, the owner is so so cool and he gave us a DVD of one of his “kinky movies”. 10/10

We (me and my two friends) ordered the half-n-half chicken. We saw that the portions were big and were content with the $30ish dollar plate but the owner suggested we get the Director’s Cut because what we wanted wasn’t “going to be enough.” However, his suggestion was double the price and probably would be too much for us to finish. When I insisted we wanted to stick with our choice (I had to do insist twice), he grumbled about he knows best and reluctantly went to the back to start making our order. When he brought out the plate, it definitely felt sufficient for us. The food was fresh, and the flavors were great. Honestly, when we finished the plate, we were satisfied because the flavors do have a lot of sweetness to them on top of the added component of the fruit, so we wouldn’t have wanted to eat more and have the bigger portion like the owner suggested. The $30 portion is good for three people if you want to leave a tiny bit room for dessert or for something at another spot.

Love this place, small little hole in the wall with a lot of personality. Apart from the owner and decor being cool, the fried chicken is great. I was confused seeing the pictures with fruit/sides but they really work to bring a dish thats beautiful to look at.

I’ve dined here for years. It’s a place you can only find in LA (or Korea). Gol Tong is not only a director of film, but the sole owner, chef, host, server, and meal companion at Gol Tong Chicken.

I took my friend there for the first time just 3 days ago - and we’re both still talking about it.

Oh my god. Amazing. I legit said to my friend like I wanted fruit but also something fried and THIS DELIVERED omg!! The spot is sooo cute too like a hidden gem and the owner is so stylish!
