This is what a smash burger should be. Nice crispy edges on the patty with a nice meaty center. Both the goldburger and LA were very good!

Finally, I was able to hit this place after reading so much about it. And boy, was I disappointed. I picked the house burger, which had a garlic aioli, which sounded yummy. I'll never be able to tell you if it is or isn't, cause all I tasted was cheese. Everything else was overpowered by it. Fries were decent. The side patio is clean and welcoming. Verdict: HYPE

The Quality and Customer service were excellent. I ordered the California Classic Burger which was very salty, under cooked (no smash burger crispy bits) and over sauced. I wish they toasted the bun so it would hold up better. Fries were perfectly cooked and crispy, but came with no condiments (there is fine print that I didn’t see until much later that states ketchup and aioli are .75¢ each and available upon request…?) and were not seasoned after frying ??♀️ overall meh. Affordable, but not sure I’d return based on this experience.

Goldburger is hands-down my favorite burger place in Highland Park. My go-to options are the classic, juicy Goldburger or the delectable, extra cheesy Patty Melt; I always modify them to add chopped chilies to round out and balance all of the hearty, rich, meaty and satisfying flavors. Their curly fries are blissful, delicately crunchy perfection. I usually get the handcrafted cane sugar cola or diet cola to pair with my burger and fries, both have a soothing, mellow, crisp and refreshing taste. You won’t want to miss out on the heaven for your taste buds that is Goldburger! Awesome, quick, and friendly service plus a laidback, inviting ambience make this local gem a no-brainer.

In the rain, I decided to try 2 of the highest rated burger joints in LA. First up is For the Win. I went to the Glendale location as it was the closest. This is a small hole in the wall within a small strip mall. The cheeseburger was $8, and it was delicious! For not expecting much at all, it surpassed all my expectations and some. The meat was flavorful, and just the right amount of crispiness. The bread made the difference, as it soaked up all the goodness and flavors of the patty. I would highly recommend this place, and would definitely come back. The 2nd joint I hit up was Goldburger. This is the 2nd time I've been here this week. I don't think my previous review was fair as I had a hamburger and a pastrami burger. I thought I should be comparing apples to apples, so I ordered the Goldburger. Although it was a double, I still think it was a fair comparison. It was good, but I think For the Win's flavor was better. For the Win's buns also added to my opinion. I still think Goldburger is overrated. The staff was nice, but I'm not sure I would come back.Growing up in LA, I've always loved In-N-Out. It's always been my go-to because of convenience. I've never been disappointed. For the value, it's still the best.

The food was disgusting. First and last time here. The buns were cold and of a poor quality. They completely disintegrated as we were eating. The beef patties were uneven in thinness. Burgers never say die blow this place out of the water.

Had previously only ordered via doordash and decided to come get it fresh. No regrets. Waited less than 10 min. Got the LA special which is so well balanced despite looking like it’s going to fall apart the moment you take a bite due to the pile of pastrami. If it’s your first time def do like the Wifey who got the Goldburger and it definitely fulfilled the smash burger craving. Simple. Cheesy, gooey the aioli works really well. Pickles help cut the richness. Perfectly seasons patties with a crisp crust so you know that patty was pressed to perfection!

Literally a little hole in the wall place with GREAT food! Had an Americana double smashburger and fries this time. Burger was perfectly cooked and tasted like actual hamburger! Fresh, tasty bun, melty cheese, pungent onions, fresh fresh veggies. The fries are to die for! Crisp on the outside, mashed consistency on the inside and the garlic aoli is terrific! Highly recommended.
First time here.. loved the burger.. looked so delicious I forgot to take a pick.. we shared the fries(alot of fries).. I really like their soda pops .gotta try againParking: Street parking

Burgers and fries are excellent! Overall a 7/10.However, the Swell sodas are terrible and don't hit like a regular Sprite. The fact they don't have an ice machine is a little disappointing, so maybe overall rating should be a 6.8/10.

When you walk up to the window it smells amazing. They have a covered outdoor bar like seating with lights and music. There's a walk up window to order on the street side and a window in the seating area for pickup. They have really good service and a simple menu but good food.

Not bad. The kids' cheese burger is the best. Perfect size. I feel like the other burgers have too much meat and onions.
