We live close by and tried it out during a Friday night. The place was quite for a nice peaceful dinner. Our server was really nice and tentative
We didn't have to cook the meal. The staff did it for us. We got big filling dishes, it's a nice place to eat in a group

We stumbled upon a charming, family-owned Korean traditional shop that offered a limited but authentic selection of dishes. We opted for their combo and thoroughly enjoyed the flavors. One tip we'd like to share is that the whole fish in the soup would be better deboned or at least a warning when ordering, especially for first-time visitors. Despite this, we highly recommend the shop and can't wait to return!

One of the best soups I’ve had in LA! Rich, clean broth with no fishy taste, perfectly seasoned, and so comforting. Will definitely come back!

My best friend and I stumbled upon this place randomly bc all other restaurants on the plaza were closed. BEST DECISION EVER OMG. The bbq fish is so flavorful and nicely crisp. The soup is not overly fishy but nonetheless it is a fish soup. Please please please stop by and support this family owned place. Worth every penny. 🙌🙏💅
Best Loach Soup in Ktown! I couldn't put the soup down! Their kimchi and banchans were also so good!
Actually, I’ve had a bad experience in the past at a restaurant in Koreatown, so I was really hesitant and nervous before stepping into this one. But despite being alone, all my anxiety melted away thanks to the incredibly kind owner.
The Combo #3 that the owner recommended was a perfect match for my taste. She
even kindly explained how to eat the Chueo Bulgogi (mudfish bulgogi), and when I followed her instructions, it turned out to be absolutely delicious.
When they heard that an elderly and unwell person had come to eat, they looked genuinely concerned.
I could really feel their heartfelt respect and care for their customers.
They even paid attention to whether other customers were having any issues with parking, showing a genuine sense of care.
I truly wish this restaurant great success.
I was so touched by both the flavor and the kindness that I ended up ordering three servings of Chueotang and two servings of Chueo Bulgogi to go.
Today has truly been a happy day.

This a beautiful hole-in-the wall Korean restaurant. Randomly stumbled upon this place as we were grabbing drinks nearby. Goopojib’s specialty is a mudfish soup and bbq fish. If you’re looking for a homemade fresh meal packed with nutrients and flavor, you must try this place! Owner was so kind and the kimchi is amazing. 💚

This is hands down one of the best chueotang (mudfish soup) experiences I’ve ever had. The broth is deep, rich, and comforting—clearly the result of a family recipe passed down through generations.
What makes it truly special is the fresh perilla leaves (방아잎) served alongside the soup, a rare and fragrant addition that elevates the entire dish.
The side dishes are unlimited, and every bite is delicious. I couldn’t stop reaching for the braised tofu—perfectly seasoned and addictive. The freshly made kimchi, prepared daily, adds a crisp, tangy balance that ties the meal together beautifully.
If you’re craving authentic Korean comfort food with soul and care, this place is a must-visit.

If you’re a fan of chueotang (Korean loach soup), this is hands down the best place in LA! The flavors are even better than what I had back home in Korea – it’s rich yet light, and perfectly balanced. The owner is so kind and welcoming; their warm smile always brightens my day. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic and comforting Korean flavors!

Coming up from SD and not knowing much about LA, we wanted to try something special that we couldn’t get back home. And we found it! This restaurant specializes in using loach (aka mudfish) and only has 5 options on the menu, so you know its good. The owners were super friendly and explained everything we needed to know about the dishes and were very accommodating for us! Super comfy and local feel. Highly recommend trying it out!
