This is our place to brunch prior to museum or theater visits. Its a quick walk to the Disney Hall, Music Center Theaters, and the MOMA and Broad. There is live jazz on Sundays, a huge buffet brunch or a menu option. We opted for the menu, having avocado toast and an impossible burger. The service has ALWAYS been stellar. The back area dining room is bright and has the BEST waitstaff. The avocado toast comes with fresh watermelon radish, cherry tomatoes, lots of avocado, and poached eggs (if you like). There is also a splash of lemon oil, which makes this dish so tasty. The impossible burger is cooked perfectly and is served with delicious fries. As I mentioned, this is our go to place prior to theater or a museum visit.
I used to love Grand Café's brunch. I've celebrated many birthdays and special events there, and I was thrilled when Sunday brunch returned after COVID. But after this past Sunday's experience, I won't be returning. The selection is just okay, but there's no waffle station, which in my opinion, is a brunch staple. There wasn't an omelette station either. For the price of $75, it's totally not worth it. The brunch is advertised as $68, but they charge you more when you get there. For that price, I can go to other places in the city with a better selection and unlimited mimosas. The waiters were amazing, and the jazz band was a nice addition, but even that isn't worth $75 – especially when the place was empty. This place is not what it used to be. Sorry, Grand Café, I won't be returning.
Stayed at the Omni for almost a week and experienced eating at their restaurant for breakfast several times. The times we experienced the food was wonderful as well as service. Never had any wait and was served immediately.
My boyfriend and I come here for mostly every important event (birthdays, anniversary, etc). We absolutely love it. Although the selection isn't as big as other buffets, the quality is there and mostly importantly, the service is amazing. I always ask for Jose or Amytes and as usual, they are AMAZING. They made my boyfriend's birthday special and we are glad we got to spend it at the Grand Cafe!
i made a lunch reservation at the Grand Cafe after attending a luncheon event at the Omni Hotel and truly enjoying the food, which was unexpected at what is usually a rubber chicken, tepid affair. Alas! My lunch was quite ordinary, and the flashes of creativity (such as crispy seasoned eggplant subbing for bacon in a vegan "ELT") were offset by what seemed like grocery store bread. And the room was a little dark and quite empty; the hotel guests clearly find more exciting places to lunch. Fortunately, my lunch companion was delightful, and the service was cheerful. I am not, however, inspired to return soon.
Mother's Day Unlimited Brunch was perfect! Complimentary Rose for mothers. 3 mimosas each, 3 different flavors. Waiters coming often to check on you. Food coming out fresh. Fresh hand made ice cream rolls ^(line gets long but moves quickly)^ 85$ a person. FYI I'm just a regular guy from Long Beach. I would take the drive again!
Lucero provided legendary service. My wife, her mom, aunties and cousins all had a great time. We received very professional, courteous service with a smile. Keep up the good work.
A Mother's Day Delight at the Grand Cafe Our Mother's Day rendezvous at the Grand Cafe proved to be a delightful affair, rich in warmth and culinary delights. Augustine's assistance in securing our reservation for 12 set a seamless tone for the occasion, though a minor hiccup with outdoor seating was swiftly resolved with Eddy's attentive service. Opting for the Mother's Day special, priced at $85 per adult and $45 per child, treated us to a feast of seafood and prime rib, each dish a testament to culinary finesse. The ambiance, enhanced by live music, added a charming backdrop to our outdoor dining experience, albeit with intermittent serenades due to our seating. Eddy's attentive care ensured our comfort and satisfaction throughout, particularly appreciated by the mothers among us. Despite minor nuances, our time at the Grand Cafe was a testament to impeccable service, inviting ambiance, and culinary excellence—a celebration worthy of the mothers in our lives.
Mother's Day brunch was wonderful. Loved the lobsters from Maine. Got to talk to the executive chef. Great band with live jazz. Got to walk off our calories while visiting the Broad museum next door.
In general the service was outstanding - However, most of the restaurant is very dark and morbid. There was only one area that had tables by a window. The noise level was very loud and too much to handle. Unable to have a conversation with my wife. They forgot to turn on the HVAC. - We were there for a Sunday Brunch around Noon and the heat was unbearable. Before we left I was unable to catch my breath because it was so hot. A bit overpriced. $68 for the Brunch. Considering another $20 for the valet parking. (which s/h/b complementary) The Brunch should have been priced at no more than $50.

I am soooooo happy they brought AYCE brunch back!!! And they have added live Jazz. Yes, thank you!!! Wished it was inside where the seating area is vs at the front desk though. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Food was tasty and they kept everything stocked. Absolutely loved the Cajun seafood broil with the crab, sausage, corn on the cob, shrimp & crawfish. Another fav station was the Habachi noodles. Yum! Be sure to ask for the waffles from your waiter as they make those in the back. Brunch was $68pp but does not include mimosas. They even had an Easter bunny giving out eggs with candy as we went for Easter. Too cute! Will definitely be back!!

Jose & Amytes were absolutely amazing. Came here to celebrate my birthday and honestly it was the best experience, as always. Not only is the food amazing, but we continuously come back because of Jose & Amytes. We celebrate every special occasion here because they make you feel so special every time. We love it here so much!
My only request for improvement is to offer better cheeses. The ones you have seem like cheap store bought varieties and stand out negatively from all the other excellent quality foods.
I host a yearly Galentine's event and chose the Grand Cafe this year as I work in the downtown area and have been here several times for lunch. I invited 15 women and everyone enjoyed their meal but especially the nice vibe, convenient location and the outstanding customer service. Sonia was most accommodating as well as her staff which made our event very special, we did not wait long for our meal and it was truly a beautiful day with lovely friends. Thank you, I look forward to returning and having Sunday brunch !!!!
