I went to Grandma’s Kitchen Kaffe recently and it was amazing! I usually hate fried fish, but theirs was so good—crispy, not greasy, and full of flavor. I had it with an ice-cold Coke and honestly, it hit the spot. The place feels super cozy, like eating at home, and the staff was really friendly. Definitely a spot I’ll go back to!

We had a great time at Grandma’s Kitchen, a small business near Los Callejones. The waitress recommended some oysters served as an entree while the main course arrived. The oysters were cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious sauce. I’ve tried oysters in other places, but this one is one of the best. The sauce is a perfect blend of flavors and pairs well with the culichi-style sauce. I highly recommend taking a walk around the area. It’s a pleasant and clean atmosphere to be in, especially in Los Angeles area.

If you're in the area and you're craving fried fish, this place has an amazing fried fish. Probably the best mojarra frita I've eaten. This thing was huge, comes with rice and a small side salad. The flavor of this fish was amazing for me. It was seasoned so well inside and out. The fish was delightfully crunchy where it should be. The tortillas that come with fish are forgettable, but the salsas are good. I ordered for delivery and this restaurant has not disappointed at all for me so far. One of the better restaurants by Santee Alley that isn't hot dogs, or other smaller items.
Fish tacos are phenomenal

i never leave reviews anywhere but If i could give this place O stars i would. i came here with my family and the server was a total b. i had mentioned that i wanted to practice my Spanish (as i normally do when i'm ordering) and when i was struggling the server that was there said i can speak english just say it in english then she walked away while me and my family were ordering. it made me feel really bad because i'm learning Spanish and she didn't brother to have 10 seconds of patience not to mention that the food here was absolutely disgusting. the wet burrito tasted like the red sauce was pizza sauce. the quesadilla was nothing but cheese and ground beef like texture for the meat. when she came by to check on the food. she asked if everything was ok and i said everything was fine and she told me "i didn't ask how you were i asked about the food" when i was clearly responding about the food. our bill was nearly $80 for 3 plates. the place was absolutely disgusting and filled with5-6 flies around all of our food. we never ended up eating it and still paid. save yourself money and never give your money to this business.

Do you like going to “ Los Callejones”? Are you looking for a place to sit down and eat some delicious food? Would you like to have a beer while your wife shops? This place has great service, fresh delicious food, cafe de la olla, agua frescas, cerveza and desserts.
The ladies were very nice and made us feel welcomed. I will be coming back to try more food items and have some beers.
I ate at this restaurant today and was thoroughly disappointed. The atmosphere was run down, and the $19.95 carnitas plate was a letdown. My husband got the chicken Posole that was $16.95, it came red when typically chicken Posole is green. My carnitas plate, the food tasted reheated and lacked flavor. For that price, $78 for 2 people, really disappointing, I expected better. I advise you to consider other options, like the taco/ hot dog cart across the street, way better! And better price too!
Disappointing Experience at a Run-down Mexican RestaurantI recently visited this place, it left me shocked and unimpressed. The food was just okay, with the Carnitas plate tasting like it had been sitting around for a day or two. To make matters worse, they forgot to give us napkins. They served me RED chicken posole instead of the usual green, and it had slimy chicken skin in it. On top of that, they that bowl was $17?!! for the posole! So not worth it.What bothered me the most was the dirty and run-down atmosphere. We ended up paying a hefty $78 bill for TWO people, which would have been acceptable if the place didn't feel AMD LOOK like a hole in the wall. And that was before they try to charge me $78! Trying to over charge me for a drink.Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The food lacked flavor and freshness, and the restaurant's condition was far from appealing. I'd suggest looking for better Mexican dining options in the area.
