Terrible service! The pork ribs were overly sweet and burnt, and the gamjatang (pork bone soup) was way too salty. The staff was unfriendly and dismissive, making the experience even worse. This was absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve had, and I will never go back.

I went to Ham Ji Park a little after 4 PM today with my family for the first time in a while, but ended up leaving completely upset — without eating a single bite and wasting $10 on valet parking for two cars. When we arrived, there was only one table occupied in the entire restaurant. Since we came in two cars, a few family members went in first and told the staff there would be seven of us. One staff member initially started to seat us, but another came over and rudely asked again how many people were in our party. When we said seven, he abruptly told us that everyone had to be there before we could be seated — and even told us to step outside and wait, despite the restaurant being completely empty.

We explained that the rest of our family had already parked and were walking in, but instead of showing even basic courtesy, he insisted that our older family members—people in their late 60s—step outside and wait, speaking to us in a completely disrespectful manner. We had just stepped outside the door when the rest of our party walked in, yet the staff continued to be rude, hiding behind “policy” as an excuse for their poor attitude and unprofessional behavior.

We tried to stay calm and sit down to order, but their arrogance and disrespect only got worse. Eventually, we had no choice but to leave. On our way out, one of them had the nerve to say, “Go eat somewhere else,” with a smirk.

This was beyond disappointing — it was offensive, humiliating, and utterly unacceptable. I’ve never experienced such rude, inconsiderate treatment at any restaurant in Los Angeles. Ham Ji Park has completely lost its sense of hospitality and respect for customers. I will never return, and I’ll make sure others know how shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful their staff has become.

I just had the worst experience ever at this restaurant. The group of 5–6 male staff members had absolutely no sense of proper customer service or manners, and even the food was nothing like it used to be. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 20 years living in LA, but I will never be coming back. Every single employee was rude and disrespectful, treating customers as if they didn’t care whether we stayed or left. My friends and I barely finished our meal because the atmosphere was so unpleasant, and even the food was disappointing—we left half of it uneaten. The cheonggukjang was so salty that we had to dilute it with water, and the pork ribs weren't fully cooked, making us worry about getting sick afterward. Overall, this was the worst service experience I’ve ever had, and people deserve to know about it.

Honestly super rude service which ruined the whole experience. Don’t know if it was because it was a younger group of customers, but our server refused to speak with me in Korean (but would with other customers?), gave major attitude, and didn’t check in on us once. Will never go back and telling people to stay away from this place.

The pork ribs were less sweet than the last time I had them here, so I really enjoyed the meal.

Please note that the restaurant opens at 11:00 AM, but valet parking service starts charging at 12:00 PM. Make sure to keep this in mind.

OG spot and a Koreatown institution since way back. The food was as fire as I remember it being. I ordered the 2 staples of their menu, their claim to fame and what most come for. The pork spare ribs are grilled with just the right amount of char and heat. The sauce is a nice balance of sweet, spicy and savory. The pork & potato stew is super hearty, and comes stacked. Pairs perfectly with an ice cold glass of beer or shot of soju.

This place has gone done over the years since the original owner has run it. It is now managed by a bunch rude unprofessional staff.
Service has gone way down. Lot of other places in ktown sell pork ribs...why bother with bad service and a dirty restaurant???
Also be wary of extra credit card
fees added to your bill as well mentioned in other reviews...

The food was delicious, but the employees' expressions and actions made me feel uncomfortable the whole time I was eating.

Really the worst barbecue restaurant. It's not even cheap, but the meat is all dried out and tough—maybe because people don't eat it since it tastes bad.

I only wanted to leave a minimum 10% tip, but the server stood right in front of me, handed me the payment terminal with a minimum 18% tip and no custom tip option , and stared at me.

Never go there. It's a waste of money and will only ruin your mood.

Food was excellent, would recommend either the pork or beef ribs and any of the soups. We got 2 ribs and 2 soups, including the big pork and potato one for 4 people and we were all exploding by the end with leftovers.

Service is slow and you need to call them over, and their attitude isn't great. Banchan were basic and never refilled. Parking is easier if you just pay the $5 validated valet in the garage

Ham Ji Park is renowned for serving the best pork ribs in LA, and they certainly live up to the hype! The ribs are perfectly marinated and grilled to succulent perfection, offering a delightful burst of flavor with every bite. We also tried the Gamjatang, and its rich, deep flavors were a pleasant surprise. The hearty combination of tender pork, potatoes, and spices made every spoonful a pure delight. The cozy atmosphere, together with the friendly service, made our dining experience exceptional. Hanjip is the perfect spot for anyone craving authentic and delicious Korean BBQ and stew.
