I always love their cornets/hornets but this evening I was kind of grossed out. This guy was washing items and then when he handed my bag of cream hornets and card back, his gloves looked wet...like he didn't change his gloves before serving my food! That is poor hand hygiene and gross...

Food is stale and the business model sucks. I bought a pastry, which looked way better than it tasted. Asked for some basic things and got a NO for everything: Me: I'd like that pastry for here. Them: We only serve it in a nasty brown to-go bag that will crush it. Me: Can I get a paper plate? Them: NO Me: Can I have a knife to cut the pastry? Them: NO. We don't do knives Me: Can I have a cup? Them: NO

This location is much smaller and older compared to the ones in Torrance, Costa Mesa, Irvine. This one is located inside the Mitsuwa complex, plenty of parking, but I agree with other reviewers that the availability of the pastries are hit or miss. The lady that's there is friendly however there's usually a guy there in the mornings that has a chip on his shoulder ALL the time. Really unfriendly, never says thank you, like you're doing them a favor patronizing this location. Hamada-ya has a long history of making fantastic bread and pastries. Just go to another location instead.

They're always out of everything! Even when they have refreshments, the quality always varies! It's never consistent!I kept coming here because I had a really good milk tea once... but it's a sunk cost fallacy to keep coming here, sometimes you must learn to let things go smh

The pudding here is really good. My friend decided buy a whole bunch after eating one. I had the melon pan which was pretty decent. The boba here is pretty average which is to be expected though. Service is great and it's super casual.

Food and drinks taste great, but it doesn't seem management understands how to keep the shop properly stocked with in demand items. The last 6 times I've gone within the past 3 weeks, before noon, they've been sold out of matcha because "it's their most popular item." If that's the case, why not stock more matcha? They're also continually out of boba, and won't make a matcha boba drink without the boba...so, in short, you can rarely get their delicious matcha boba drink because either they're out of matcha, or on the rare occasion that they do have matcha, then they're out of boba and won't make the drink without it.

This is my little sinful secret go-to whenever I crave for a baked good or pastry. The strawberry stuffed croissant are my usual treat. Both the regular lightly whipped cream version as well as the chocolate whipped cream with light chocolate drizzle on top are simply amazing! I had enjoyed the curry stuffed donut whenever I'm in the mood for a savory carb treat. I highly suggest this place if you want a dessert that's just enough sweetness, but not overly American sweet. It's perfect for an Asian sweet!
First I really do like the pastries and drinks. Cashiers are nice. However they're always out of something so watch out. You might go expecting to get your favorite menu item and they won't have it. I'm a regular and this happens multiple times weekly.

Located conveniently inside Mitsuwa market makes it easy to drop by and get good bread and fun pastries here. My favorite loaf is their Boloniya, a super rich, buttery and absolutely amazing "Denish butter bread," lightly sweet like a pastry Danish, tastes like a croissant, with its Japanese origin. It's the softest Hokkaido milk bread in town. It is made with a roux included in the final dough following the Tangzhong method. It's much better when lightly toasted.

I think this place is only good for desserts like cakes, NOT BOBA DRINKS. I had the boba milk tea and it was bland.
