1/9/26: Had the pastrami sandwich. Pretty good, filing.
First time visiting Ray’s on the River, and it definitely won’t be my last. The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and the food truly stood out. I had a steak that was probably one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. An all-around fantastic experience, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
Had the breakfast burrito and the cheese steak. Great food great prices. Kind of a long wait but worth it.

Enjoyed our birthday brunch for Dad's 83rd Birthday. Great food, quick service. Shout out to our wonderfully patient server, Brianna! 11/2/25
Had the patty melt and was not disappointed at all. The fries made in tallow make difference too. Taste so much better than other burger spots
The Pastrami Sandwich and fries are my favorite

☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️Great counter for picking up breakfast/lunch while at West LA LAPL / courthouse, USPS, UCLA Thrift Shop, Cinephile, Sawtelle neighborhood LAPD Purdue station, etc.
On a rainy day, bring your umbrella and enjoy the fact that you can hop over to LAPL with your coffee ☕️ 🫖 🧃 🌂 📚🙏
What could be better? Seat cushions 😁
Graçias, Ray’s.

It's sad when an iconic restaurant loses its edge. This has happened with Ray's on the River. The setting next to the Chattahoochee River is fantastic so that hasn't changed but the flavor of the food and moreover the service has plummeted. Our group of 8 ladies were given such poor service even after speaking with two managers and that indicates a deep company problem. Our servers ignored us even when they were at the table next to us. They never once asked how the food was or do you need a refill of this or that. Several guests traveled over two hours to join the birthday gathering. We made the best of it because of who we are. Atlanta has so many good choices and when you are spending premium $$$$ you should get that premium service. I hope they will get back on track, hire the people who want to be there and have the right attitude of hospitality. A name can only carry you so long if you don't have the service and food to match.
Me and Ray go way back. He’s the only one that I’ll travel to if I’m craving a burger I’ll go to. I get the teriyaki burger with avocado and they just know how to make it. Ray knows me by my first name because I used to work across the street from him
I need him to open multiple locations.

Absolutely delicious. Friendly service. They use beef tallow for their fries. 👍One of the best in West LA.

Stopped in to this to-go burger spot for my first time and really enjoyed it. They have a large menu and portions. Service was quick, everything that we ordered was cooked well and had some great flavor. Parking can be tricky in this part of town depending on the time, but I was able to find street parking one block away. Everything that we ordered came out really fast and pricing is fair. This is not a sit down and eat kind of place, it is designed for to go, which is what I chose to do for this first visit.
I chose the Patty Melt and added avocado because it’s filled with cheese and large patties. It had some great seasoning on the meat and the bread was perfectly toasted. The french fries on the side weren’t my favorite but still enjoyable. I would recommend and visit again in the future to try different items.
I like this place and I would go back. But if I did I would try something else, like the teriyaki. As others have stated in other reviews. The cheese steak sandwich could use some seasoning. I drove around the corner to the 7/11 to buy salt and pepper to put on the sandwich. But I will say that the ingredients in and on the sub were really good and tested fresh.
The pastrami sandwich with tater tots was excellent, was so good, i didn't save the second half for dinner

The BEST burgers hands down! They are HUGE! I’ve had just about every burger on the menu and they’re ALL good! I recommend EVERYONE to go to Ray’s and get something to eat. It’s reasonably priced and the food is to die for!
