Hiko Sushi offers shockingly fresh and delicate sushi, with perfectly seasoned fish and outstanding rice. This quaint spot is a must-visit for sushi lovers. Locals consider it the best sushi place in LA, even surpassing other spots. People are surprised that it costs more than average sushi joints, but you definitely get what you pay for. Every piece of fish is crafted and served to perfection, the rice is warm and the seasoning is just right. The uni is the best ever. It is small and cozy, with no phones allowed. The entire meal is brought out piece by piece in the correct order for the ultimate eating experience. It feels like a comfortable nook. The owners are the nicest and sweetest people on the planet. If you prefer an authentic menu with no Americanized rolls and truly enjoy the beauty of melt in your mouth sushi, this is absolutely the place for you. Favorites include Uni, Red Snapper, Hamachi Yellowtail, Salmon, Albacore, O Toro, and Blue Crab Handroll. The house sake is good. They had the omakase and everything selected was outstanding and consistently fresh. The restaurant is small, and reservations are needed. The pricing is higher because you are eating bigger pieces of fish instead of Americanized rolls. Service was fast and efficient. The owners are warm and it feels inviting there.
