You have to go and get your fresh live fish here, the employees go above and beyond for you here. I love this seafood market and they have their own free parking!
There's new ownership here, Brian sold out after many years. After an initial teething period (cash only for weeks), things have settled down. The say they open at 8:30, and for about two weeks the new owner didn't open the door until then. But everyone was used to showing up early, so he relented, and I normally walk in there at 8:20, often with a line.
The attraction is fresh fish of course, but that's not my game, I go there for Dungeness crabs. The price has gone up to $16.99 and stabilized, whereas it used to fluctuate depending on where the crabs were sourced, CA in season, and then Oregon and points north. I don't mind, there's very few sources for live crabs in L.A., which is odd considering the size of this city, my local QFC grocery store in Bellevue, Washington had a tank, so did a Japanese store. Nam-Hoa, around the block, used to have live crabs at comparable prices, but apparently it closed. The price is half the price of Quality Seafood in Redondo, a tourist trap (same with Maine lobsters). Those two are all I know about.
The crabs are good, I've seen them average over 3 pounds, but the usual is about 2 - 2.5 pounds. Very occasionally I've run into hollow crabs, recent molts, but crabs can be variable, and that's the rare exception. The norm is solid crabs that fight you all the way to the steamer (gloves are advisable, and never boil crabs). This place sells a lot of crab, so they haven't been hanging out in the tanks for long.
There's some good bargains in the frozen case, mussels, snow crab, and occasionally king crab at a good price, like $40. Don't see that very often these days. They also carry frozen conch meat at a decent price, very nice.
I miss this shop
Omggg!!! Octopus and oysters
Lil pricey but fresh and outstanding customer service
This fish market is amazing the product is freah and the store is clean. They consistently go above and beyond, offering genuine assistance and warm, friendly interactions that make every visit not just a task, but a memorable experience. From the ambiance to the people, everything about this store contributes to a relaxing and enjoyable shopping outing.
Good store with fresh lobsters, crabs, fish.
Came to buy fresh sea food, so my mom could make her famous '7 seas soup'. She always said the key to a great soup is to buy fresh ingredients. Upon arriving, i knew this was going to be my 'go to spot' for fresh seafood. They have good customer service and there is free parking on the Rt side of the store.
Me and my husband got some lobster here and it was well worth the money. The staff was so cool very friendly and the lobsters were very good and full of meat. Will be going back for sure.
I always buy fresh fish there for a few years.

This is my place to get crab legs, fairly priced and look good every time I've gone and there friendly.
Nice and clean Asian market. They have a lot of different items and good prices too
Good ? looks good ?
I bought 3 dungeness crabs yesterday, and one was dead already when I got home(15min drive), and also noticed they cheated the weight almost half pound higher. It was hard for me to criticize small business, but I had to leave my comment here in order to let people know to avoid their fraud.I hope they never cheat this again to their customers because I won't go back again.1. don't let them weight your items in the black plastic bag because they put the little water in the bag and they put my crab in the brown paper first then the paper bag sucks the water a lot so the weight goes up to half pound or more. Ask them put them into the basket or make sure the water fully drained in the plastic bag2. double check if the items are alive. I was dumb that I didn't check crabs' condition before they put in the black plastic bag (it was a good lesson how to buy live seafoods in the market)I truly hope they understand this kind of businesses is always based on the trust so I won't go there again!
