Everything is tasty!! The place is clean and the former inmates are awesome baristas. Cool place for a quick bite if you're in the area and definitely a better alternative to Starbucks.

The menu is fairly conservative with different cuts of meat and some side offerings.

There's amazing baked goods and wonderful, friendly service. It's a must stop if doing business or visiting City Hall. it's on the 2nd floor.

Definitely NOT a diner. Limited selection. Would come back for a cup of coffee on the unlikely occasion that I find myself on the second floor of City Hall. Don't go out of your way for this place. Not much more to say.

A hidden gem in LA, Homeboy Diner exceeded all my expectations. The moment I stepped inside, the inviting aroma of delicious American cuisine filled the air. The restaurant's rustic charm and cozy atmosphere created the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The menu showcased a creative twist on American classics, with innovative flavors and impeccable execution. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided exceptional service, making me feel like a valued guest. Homeboy Diner is a must-visit for any food lover in Sacramento!

If you happen to be near the courthouses in downtown and want something other than cafeteria food, this place is a good option. They have premade sandwiches which looked good, pastries, coffeehouse style drinks and some specials. I opted for the special of the day which was chilaquiles. They were delicious. They are in a court building so you will have to go through security. There weren't long lines either in the security line or the diner.

More tourists should check out this diner/cafe, especially those who are visiting City hall for the observation deck. This is the only food service inside City Hall and caters overwhelmingly to the office workers. This is an outpost of the main Homeboy and they do a great job. Note that the pastries are not baked here, so they are not guaranteed to be baked that morning (usually are but not always). However, I find they are excellent even if baked the day before (better than Starbucks for example which serves the thawed frozen pastries cooked in a mega facility offsite). The espresso-based drinks are terrific. They also serve lunch fare. Service is great, friendly and usually very fast. Public restrooms are located on this floor (2nd) off the hallway just outside the Homeboy entrance. The hallway has 8 small round tables (2 chairs each) and two barstool-height tables (4 chairs each). Mostly, the office workers are taking their purchases back to their work locations. There is a social cause aspect to the business (check out the homeboy website to read about this). I salute the employees for working to get their lives back in order, and appreciate their service to the community as they do so.

The chicken salad has WAY too much of raw onions for a workplace cafe! Onion is the predominant taste. It's impossible to get through afternoon meetings if you eat this for lunch. You'll have onion breath all afternoon. It's usually spicy red raw onion and it's chopped up you can't really pick it out. I won't be making that mistake again. LOLTurkey sandwich was tasty, but the bottom bread gets soggy from the tomato. The last turkey sandwich was actually wet in one side (bread was mush).

$13 Cobb salad but NO SALAD DRESSING. I asked the cashier where is the salad dressing for the salad. He said it’s a small package inside the container. Now I’m home ready to eat by salad but I have no salad dressing ☹️

I was downtown on jury duty and wanted something quick and easy. On the second floor of City Hall, Homeboy diner is small with tremendous food. I had ine of the daily sandwich specials and it was super yummy. The sourdough bread was fresh and delicious. Definitely will return the next time I'm in DTLA.
