I ordered at door dash 3 hrs ago and they cancelled my order last minute. I called them and the reason was “too many orders” and they hung up! Not recommended and unfriendly

Hung up on us when they were the ones who cancelled our order. Dont ever order to this restaurant again.

I’ve been here several times and each time I’ve been pleased with the food and the extensive menu items. Lately, I’ve been craving their spicy salted squid, which is lightly battered with scallions and jalapeno peppers. This time I also tried their spicy tofu with ground beef. Both were very good.

My boyfriend and I went here a few years ago. We will never ever go back. The food was just OK, but the service was unimaginably bad. The owner (I assume he’s the owner) is extremely rude. My boyfriend asked where the restroom was and he got the rudest response. He just pointed to it and acted annoyed. Please stay away from this place.

Came here with family for a celebration of life, and they kindly accommodated a very big, banquet style party. Food was absolutely delicious, and service was 100%!! Very attentive and got us everything we needed in a timely manner. Our server was kind, funny and efficient! Couldn’t have asked for better service tbh. We had such a good time here and we were served sooooo much yummy Chinese food, in my opinion, pretty authentic cantonese food!

I have come to this merchant on many occasions during the COVID pandemic and as of recent. In the past I’ve asked to use the restroom but within the last 2 years the workers have refused to let delivery drivers use the restroom. When asked the response was rude, and disrespectful: ‘you just pick up, no restroom’. I stated to the employee: ‘but I’m delivering for you?’ with the response: ‘no, here you pick order!’. Fortunately, my value as a person; the ability to budget as a student; and having to relieve myself was much more important. I told the employee I was canceling the delivery and his response was: ‘I don’t care you don’t make money!’

I left, cancelled the delivery and immediately received a notification for another pickup and went elsewhere to use the restroom. I think this attitude is unprofessional, eradicating business relationships that can help businesses profit; other delivery drivers have experienced this lack of customer service from Hop Li employees as well.

I believe that when businesses work together its an effort to help each other make a living especially during these economic times. I currently work as a part time DoorDash and UberEats driver to make ends meet as I am also a college student working on my BS in Criminal Justice at SDSU

This place was once JR Seafood which for years was one of the Westside’s top Chinese restaurants. Then it became Hop Li several years ago but many of the JR staff remained. Today it’s just a shell of itself and among the worst choices for Chinese food in the area. The beef they used in my lunch order of Mongolian Beef was the lowest quality available and basically full of gristle and inedible. The B in the window should have warned me. I definitely won’t be going back.

My (Chinese) mother has been going to this restaurant for nearly 30 years. We went twice this week (lunch and dinner) and it did not disappoint, the beef was super tender and seafood was delicious. The portions are also generous for the price we paid. The place is rather dingy and the waiter is terse but very efficient and has a dry sense of humor. I’d recommend to anyone looking for tasty, authentic Chinese food and cares less about the decor.

I’ve eaten at all of the Hop Li locations. This one by far, is the best. The quality of the food never disappoints. The portions are very generous. This is one of the few most authentic Chinese food restaurants in Los Angeles.

Came here a few weeks ago. Food was good but the service terrible. Couldn’t even get the guy to stop to ask for extra napkins. You know who you are. And because we had a large group they wanted us to add an 18% tip. For what, bad service?

Very good Chinese food, I've been coming here for years.
