Several items we ordered were out even at 8pm arrival time on a Saturday. It was a bit disappointing when you are unable to eat what you order, even the bread was all out. What did make it to the table was good. I wish the service was a bit more attentive.

I really wanted to like Horses, but the food just didn’t deliver. Everything we tried was disappointingly dry... the pasta, the bread (which oddly came with far more butter than bread, maybe because it desperately needed it), and a green apple/celery salad that felt more confusing than refreshing. The cocktails also missed the mark and didn’t balance well. For the price and the hype, I expected much more flavor, creativity, and consistenc

I ended up dining alone unexpectedly, and what could’ve ended up being a Saturday night I’d rather forget has become one that I will rave about to whoever will listen. The food was great, but the service is what made the night worth every dollar spent. Sean and Allen behind the bar treated me with so much warmth and familiarity, making me as a first-time visitor feel like a lifelong regular. This sense of hospitality and kindness was present from every staff member I interacted with, a quality that feels increasingly rare today. It’s no wonder this place continues to have a cult following, after tonight I am a full convert. And this is coming from someone with a pathological fear of the animal that is this place’s namesake.

DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We waited over an hour for our drinks. Bread and butter came out after our entries. The $200 bottle of wine we ordered never was given to us. Just a terrible experience. Do not recommend.

Eric! Thank you for pouring my desert. We had a lovely time, as always. Wearing the T shirt proudly.

Worst service ever!! It’s not that anyone who worked there was rude, it was that everything took abnormally long: we had a 8:45 reservation and were not set until 9:10 pm. Food came out in 30 min intervals which made no sense because at the end of the night there were very few people. And they had the audacity to add a 22% service charge. The food was decent but not worth that excruciating wait

This place sucks food is really greasy and not seasoned well. Also staff is very condescending and not particularly welcoming. They make you wait for a table even if there are open tables to try and create a buzz or sense of exclusivity but in reality its just a burger bar joint, nothing worth going out of your way for.

We had a mixed experience here. Things started off on the wrong foot when the lady at the entrance asked us to wait, only to greet and seat her friends who were behind us in line.

The food was okay — I was a bit disappointed to learn later that there was an off-menu pasta that many tables seemed to be enjoying, which we weren’t told about.

Our waiter was very kind and attentive, but unfortunately the waitress spilled beer on the table and didn’t react or clean it up.

The atmosphere wasn’t quite for us — the music was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other, and the room felt rather chilly.

Finally, our evening ended with a frustrating valet experience. The service costs $19, and even though we gave a generous tip, we were forgotten about and ended up waiting 15 minutes. When we asked about our car, the attendant didn’t even realize we had already paid.

Overall, the experience had a few bright spots, but too many small disappointments added up.

Friendliest staff. My partner and I had gotten into a pretty bad car crash, and the server gave us a Tiramisu on the house. That was great. We weren’t impressed by most dishes. The burger is crazy good though. And the bread and butter is a must. We’ll likely be back because we enjoyed our time here, even if we weren’t impressed by the food.

We shared the vodka pasta, the steak, a burger and I can’t remember which of their salads.

We’ll try different stuff next time.

I’ve been to Horses a few times over the years (each time with a reservation) and the food is genuinely great — the kitchen and servers do an amazing job. But the hostesses are consistently rude and condescending, which ruins the experience before it even starts.

On my most recent visit (after a year), I was greeted with eye rolls, sharp hand gestures, and a tone that felt belittling. It’s happened more than once, so this feels like a training or management issue, not a bad day. Two hostesses with the same aggressive attitude suggest something deeper.

It’s a shame, because the waiters are wonderful — kind, attentive, and professional. If the front-of-house matched their energy, Horses would be one of the best spots in Hollywood. I hope this review is read by management and improvement is made. I won’t be returning to experience any of those potential changes, however.

This is a shared opinion, also, among other friends that have dined here, hence why they haven’t returned.

I came for the first time for my birthday and had the most wonderful experience with Toliver as my server. He was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond as both a server and person. So grateful he was our server!! Food was also incredible.

Unfortunately the manager harassed us. We were having a special dinner with our best friends talking about wedding planning — the manager came up to us and lectured us about something another table did. Very unfortunate. When I asked what was wrong he admitted it was a mistake and didn’t apologize. Very likely homophobic.
